They were fast, professional, and there was no pressure to be up sold on anything. Im consistently satisfied and impressed with their professionalism and service.

Place is a joke they preach never need an appointment i go there and they tell me I need an appointment, they have 2 cars there not busy at all. Don t have anything until maybe Monday. Asked Friday and Saturday. I used to come here and give 5 stars all these new people here don t want to work.

This location is always fast, friendly, and reliable. I love that I can sit in the car with my kids while the representatives work. Theres a McDonalds next door, so sometimes, Ill swing by there first and then let everyone eat dinner in the car. The facility is neat, clean, and safe.

My husband went here to get an inspection for my car. He paid and they failed him because they didnt have the proper tools to remove the tires, even though they were able to do it last year with no issues. He took it down the road to Midas and they passed it no problem. Guess well be going to Midas from now on.

have been going here for 3 yrs with no issues went there today and was disrespected by the very unprofessional manager Will who is every bit of a stereotypical misogynistic mechanic when I advised him that I would be calling corporate to file a complaint his response was call I m not going to get fired they will never get my business ever again Will does not belong in a customer service position much less being a manager

They cheat people doing tire rotation just front to rear each side. I experienced very poor service.

Was a bad experience. The guys said it would be a 40 minute wait before they can start my service. 4 guys there but only 2 working while running 2 bays. I got tired of waiting after an hour so backed out and left.

I m gonna say nope. My car works just fine thank you. I could go on but basically just stay away.

This is one of the worst Valvoline I ever been to I had a problem here many times and today was the worst I went in to have my car inspected and vehicle was fine the assistant manger d andre failed me for a seatbelt buckle extender that s aftermarket and then became very hostile towards me if you play back the cameras you will see how unprofessional this man was to me on 11/1/23 I can t believe this man still has a job I want something done or this reviewed by the area manager asap!!

In 2019, I came on time with an appointment for a state inspection. They let me wait almost 1.5 hours in the waiting room before they started to look at my car. (this place is called instance oil change?) Im the only customer in the waiting room. Employees looked relaxed. They were chatting and joking around between themselves. They walked by me a few times without even looking at me. No one bothered to greet me or give me estimate of waiting time. They also served other walk-in customers who arrived after me. Overall it appeared they dont like inspection customers. They require you make an appointment for inspection even though the place doesnt look busy at all.

Went to this location a week ago for my inspection with no appointment was told not needed. I passed inspection but their machine was supposedly not working. They asked me to come back in 2 hrs which I did and still wasn t working so they told me I would have to go to different location. I call them back a week later to see if I could come back told me I would need an appointment (not true) Carlos was extremely rude and I will never go back there

William at Niskayuna Valvoline was beyond exceptional. He showed me the sludge in my oil system (something that the Ford dealer said they cleaned out when they replaced my engine... yes, REPLACED due to a manufacturer defect in a 2017 with 60k miles on it) and also had me get out of the vehicle and showed me my serpentine belt which was split down the middle and needs to be replaced. He instructed me to go to the Ford dealership and explained what to tell them. I consider myself technically inclined regarding vehicles, as theyre one of my main hobbies--and William had picked up on that and was extremely upfront and honest about things he noticed around my vehicle. Never once did he force any additional services or make me feel like I had urgent issues i.e., a scare tactic to purchase more services. While I cant speak for everyone at that location, I do know that the three techs that worked on my car today did exceptional work and did a very thorough job. I recommend this location and will definitely be going back.

Update 09/2022: - Extremely poor corporate response. I printed a 50% discount coupon off their website and went to this store, where the operator told me the coupon is invalid and cannot be honored. I tried calling their so-called corporate customer service 1-800 number, when the operator simply ended the call while i am describing the situation. The store manager was decent enough and offered a partial discount, which I sincerely thank him for, but it does not absolve the corporate mess... Two stars only for his professional response...otherwise zero-star for such a corporate mess. Anyway, wrote to their corporate office and awaiting response. Until then I am not doing any business with this company. Jiffy Lube, Mavis and others will definitely welcome 3 cars to their business... Excellent and timely service. The 50% coupon is good. Thumbs up

They sell interstate batteries which is a major plus. I was in and out in half an hour. It was great to be able to get an interstate battery on a weekend. My old battery had an internal short and would not hold the charge so I couldnt indulge in such niceties as comparison shopping on price. But I was glad to get it done.

Horrible experience! They stripped the head of my drain plug, which one of the employees attributed to them having used the wrong sized socket, which the manager later denied. After sending an employee off to a parts place to pick up specialized sockets they gave up trying to remove my drain plug, vacuumed the oil out from the top, refilled it, and attempted to send me on my way. I told them in no uncertain terms that I would not be leaving with the drain plug they destroyed still in place. They then had a manager from another nearby Valvoline come to site and after about another half hour he managed to remove my drain plug and replace it with a new one. I looked at the old plug and it was absolutely mangled. All told, I sat there for 3 hours (Im not kidding one bit)! I will never go back there and advise others to stay away.

I want to get an oil change and inspection done today. The guy came out and said they can t do it because it s to close to the new year and would have to come back on the 6th. He then just closed the door so I didnt even get my oil changed. Went down the street to jiffy and got my inspection and oil change that day. Won t go back which is a shame I ve been going there for years.

My wife went there for an Inspection I knew about 2 dash lights From the Sensor left front needing replacement But No Engine light, They Failed my car because Exhaust leak In flange Brand new Flanges and Bolts Thats were just installed mind you, E Brake They said didnt work Just Had All new Magnesium coated Rotors Drums ceramic pads and shoes spring kits Installed November 2022 So beside the 1 manager was Very Rude to my wife when he came out I was On the other line On speaker He needs A Lesson In Manners and Spealing to People in general hes Lucky I wasnt there In front of him !

I scheduled an appointment two weeks prior for an inspection, oil change and tire rotation. I used this Valvoline before with so-so service. When I scheduled the appt. I specifically asked if they could do the tire rotation on my SUV and they said yes. When I showed up for the appt. they told me they couldnt do the rotation. All three workers including the manager were talking amongst themselves since no one was there. Someone could have easily called me to tell me that I got bad information when they booked all three services. They then sent me to a different Valvoline and gave me the impression they would call them to tell them that I was on my way. They did not. When I got to the other Valvoline, they were short staffed and after a lot of explaining and no appointment they helped me very graciously. I will never, ever ever ever go to the Niskayuna location again. The whole situation could have easily been avoided with a simple phone call. If I could give no stars I would.

I had an appointment for an inspection. They tell me I don t have an appointment at first and then realize that I do so they have me go to the waiting room. They immediately call me out to say I need new rotors and my E brake isn t holding, so they cannot inspect my car. My rotors are only two years old and are completely fine. As I got home, I parked on a hill and my E brake is also fine. They just did not want to do the job and blew me off. I won t use Valvoline ever again. Completely unprofessional and dishonest. I took it to Metro Ford the following week and they passed it no problem. I m also suspicious that Valvoline charged me for full synthetic and gave me the lowest grade oil based on the sticker they gave me. Full synthetic should get over 6k miles. The sticker says 3k. Beware of this shop.

Was just told by manager Jeffrey that he would not touch my car due to the fact that I opted for a synthetic blend oil change as opposed to a full synthetic blend oil change. This is extremely unprofessional, rude and I will not return.

I arrived at 10am for my scheduled inspection appointment and was told it would be a 10-15 minute wait. I proceeded to wait until about 1050am before leaving. Absolutely ridiculous when there were 3 people working on one car and this was an appointment I had made a week prior. The workers were unprofessional. I was given no updates on timing or apologies that I had been waiting longer than 1 hour. I have scheduled my car inspection at a different mechanic and I will not be utilizing any Valvoline services in the future.

This place is hit or miss at best. They don t place the sticker on your windshield for you and that s if their machine works. The car wash is now an additional charge but broken all the time. They don t try and put unneeded services on you though.

Ive had many cars and not once did my ac filter ever get changed so I was pleasantly surprised when the manager showed me how dirty it was.. he listened to me about a tune up and made suggestions and saw that I was over mileage on a transmission flush which added no extra time. In/out in about 20-25 minutes. I didnt get both guys names but great service. Reason why I like this store

Employees will shout at you like it s a pit stop at the Indy 500 had the displeasure of meeting 2 hood gremlins barking incoherent orders like a couple of drunk children. Noped out of there as quickly as I pulled in. You d be better off getting an oil change from the McDonalds grease fryer next door.

Went there for inspection, although they were timely my car was rejected for a worn tie rod, had a friend take a look and couldnt find any problems with it, took it to a different place 2 days later and passed inspection no problem, when it passed the person asked why it was rejected 2 days ago and I told him valvoline said a bad tie rod, he just walked away shaking his head, I will surely not go to valvoline again

I came here for an oil change after I went to Jiffy Lube and they didn t have the right engine oil for my BMW. There was no wait, they immediately took me in, and I was able to stay in my car instead of going to a waiting room. The staff were extremely nice, patient, and informative when I told them I just got this car and it s my first time getting an oil change for it. The mechanic in charge explained in detail what kind of oil I need and why, as well as some other maintenance features in my car. Unlike at Jiffy Lube, they do NOT push you to change your air filter or various other things, which I always found extremely annoying. The last time I changed my air filter at Jiffy Lube, they were pushing me to buy a new one when I went back for my next oil change, even though it was only few months old. I highly recommend getting your car serviced here for people and work you can trust.

I never had a problem with my previous visits. Today i pull up and usually someone asks if i need help. Instead i get a guy with an attitude telling me to pull around back then throws a fit because i didnt know which bay to pull up to. I told him its his job to tell me. Very unprofessional. I just pulled back out. Who wants to trust someone like that with their vehicle.

The oil change went smoothly and everything but Jeffery waited til he had done a cleaning and oil before telling us oil change was gonna be 82 bucks. On top of the cleaning he said we needed which was 89 bucks. Absolutely ridiculous an almost 200 oil change! But nothing beats the guy copping an attitude even tho hes a manager because he never once told us the price of the oil so we were shocked. He then proceeded to show us our newly clean oil afterwards like he needed to defend himself or something. Seriously, just take the responsibility for not informing your customer enough thats all. Wont be back there, highly unprofessional

Went in the other day and told them I wanted an oil change and an inspection. Los, told me my brakes wont pass inspection because of the grooves on the rotors. These rotors are less than 6 months old. Told him to forget the inspection. Brought it to someone else who said mine are perfect. He also tried telling me my oil was like old milk coming out and tried selling me on a clean out. Please dont feed me lines of bs. Im female but I know when I am being fed a line

Very dishonest. I came in for an inspection and oil change and they pulled me aside and said that my car wasn t going to pass inspection because the brake pedal went too low and there was air in the brake lines. I believed them but after a second opinion I was told 1. Nothing was wrong with my brakes, and 2. Even if there was air in my brake lines, that would not cause my car to fail the inspection. I m disappointed that I came in for service and was blatantly lied to.

3 guys sitting around doing nothing telling me I need an appointment for a car inspection due to Covid. Not one car on lot or in shop, but turned me away. Getting paid to do nothing. Just close then!!

Claimed failed inspection over parking brake not resisting enough at 1,000 RPM. This was a new car with less than 20,000 miles. They just dont want to do inspections. Took it to dealership next day and passed inspection.

Horrible, have been there 2 times, no one ever wants to work - they could be totally dead with no customers and they make up that they have appointments then no one comes, horrendous customer service experience. Avoid this place, trust me. I feel bad for the franchise owner, my advise would be hire hungrier people, the folks I sW did not want to work, that s no good.

Fast, polite service! When we pulled up,we were told it would be a 15 -20 minute wait. It was 17, and we were pleasantly surprised because usually the wait is longer than what youre told it will be. Everyone was exceptionally polite. They gave my car a quick check of things like lights and tire pressure, then changed the oil. We were all done in about 15 minutes. Quick, easy, no hassles - just how I like things!

Try to upsell you on services I wouldnt trust them to do. Wouldnt recommend for a quick oil change. Staff struggled to coordinate with each other. If you need an oil change it will do but otherwise Id look elsewhere.

Very expensive,, was handed a very large bill after being sold a bill of goods . The best oil change gummed up my oil pump and gauge. I never went back. I will never recommend this place. SORRY.

Fast friendly service

The staff were nice, but I do not recommend going here for an inspection. My car failed for a bad serpentine belt and a power steering leak. They replaced the belt. Told me it was going to be 99.99 after it was in and I paid it was 119.99.I had them show me the belt to make sure it needed to be replaced. They do not fix power steering leaks so it failed because it couldn t get fixed, However after leaving I immediately took my car to my mechanic. They informed me that my car DID NOT have a leak and it should of passed inspection.I had them inspect the car and it passed. I should have only had to pay once for my car to be inspected instead of twice. Always question and get second opinions!!!

Reasonable look for coupons

Stopped in on a Friday morning for an oil change. Got right in. Staff very friendly, didnt pressure me into services I wasnt inquiring about. Did offer some additional services but that is the job they are paid to do. Overall very happy with service, staff, and ease of getting in and out.

Remember to bring your coupons and know what you want. Expect the normal upsells and dont be afraid to smile and say no. If you are nice they might put in cabin air filters and such that you bring with you for free. It might not be the cheapest place to get done all the things they think you need, but it is pretty good for the basic oil change. If you forget the coupons, look one up on your phone and they will take it.

These guys are awesome!

Not only did they slam something into my hood and sever the cord that opens my hood and leave a half eaten doughnut on my engine, they also broke off the handle of my glove box that they had no reason to get into for a simple oil change!!! They did nothing to help me resolve these issues and a simple oil change lead to paying for their damages to my vehicle. I will never recommend them to anyone!!

What a joke! Their 10$ an hour employees seemed to forget to tighten my oil filter and needless to say my engine is now making a knocking sound. This was over the summer in my wifes bmw x5. I went directly to their corporate office with my complaint. They cant and wont help. Where it takes 3 guys for an oil change. The left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing. They take no pride in their work. Maybe if they paid their employees more than minimum wages they would take some pride in their work. Do yourself a favor. Find a different place. These guys will cost you thousands

Pricey but good and thorough

This place is a total joke. Today was the third (and last) time in the last month I have tried to stop for an oil change and NYS inspection. The first two times they said their inspection computer was down. Now today they say their inspector called out sick. Coincidence? I think not. They can t or won t provide the services they advertise. I have been using Valvoline for years but after this garbage never again.

I went to location yesterday at 5pm which is open until 7pm. They said that they cannot do an inspection because they shut down their systems and to come back at 8am and I will be taken care of. Well its 830 and the manager said he cannot due it until 3pm due to meetings .Oil change they are good. If you want an inspection go somewhere else.

The staff are pleasant and they try to work quickly (thats the one star). Unfortunately, I no longer trust them because they will tell you need something that isnt really necessary and you could do yourself. It almost feels like abuse! I am dissatisfied and will no longer be returning to this company. This is my experience, it doesnt negate the experience of others.

No issues, no line when I got there, whole thing took 15 minutes. Had to buy a new plug and gasket but thats standard on some vehicles. Had no problems with my Groupon. Very friendly service.

Not recommended. Came in for an oil change. They say they checked my tires but I came in with a low tire and still low when I left. They also didnt reset the old service reminder. Almost 40 min for a subpar oil change.
