On 07/14/2024 I came in for an oil change and for my transmission fluid level to be checked. I arrived about 40 minutes to closing but there were two ppl ahead of me and three in the other section. By the time they made it to me it was around 1440. I had an oil change done at the location in Latham but had a bad experience so I went back here since I had no issues the last time. An older guy stated I didnt need it and I shouldnt waste my money. He was the only one who was respectful to me other than a comment he made. I told him I wanted it done and briefly explained why. Adam seemed annoyed because he wanted to go home, by then it was around 1450. I understand wanting to leave in time but it was unprofessional to direct that frustration at me. They couldve told me that I would need to come back the next day. Its money Im spending and theyre getting paid to be there. It doesnt sit well with me when I allow anyone to perform a service in that state of mind because of the strong possibility theyll do something spiteful or they rush and dont do proper work which is why I shouldve listened to my inituiton and left. Also, Adam was dropping fluid and didnt even have the decency to wipe it off. I also noticed the following week that one of the tire valve caps were missing. Its more money I spent but for my peace of mind I took my car to be inspected and will be doing my own oil changes (I also told the older guy there is a possibility they used a different oil than full synthetic. He then made a statement that told me he thought that it was okay to be charged for full) I know how my car drives with authentic vs conventional. Im particular when it comes to doing business so to have given my money to a location I thought would continue to give good service shouldve also been something they kept in mind. I noticed they put in the comment section there was an engine oil and transmission fluid leak so I went back that day. I knocked on the glass, Adam looked at me and went back to work. He couldve alerted his coworker but he behaved as if I wasnt there. I waited for some time and the older guy finally came out and assisted me. Luckily I asked for my receipt earlier bc I wouldnt have known. I had a Transmission fluid top off due to the plug having rusted to the point where it came apart which lead to being stranded on the highway that week. It was fixed the day of that incident so I needed to know if they were getting it confused with residue. Carlos first said it could be residue then he said he saw droplets for both (Btw afterwards I made an appointment with the dealership, there were no leaks only residue). I dont know if I was treated differently bc its obvious Im living in my car or they didnt want to do the work or both. What goes around will come back around. It doesnt pay to be kind. Im a young woman who has been living out of my car, its my home and want to make sure its safe so that Im safe which should be understandable. Make sure you inspect your car afterwards. Good luck.

Went to Valvoline because my a/c was blowing warm air. Valvoline recharged my air conditioning system that had leak. When a/c systems blow warm air and have no pressure, it means they have leak! This was not disclosed to me. They charged me $180.00 and the next day it was blowing warm air again. Manager said he wouldnt refund money, but he would recharge the system for free when I got the leak repaired. I wont go back to Valvoline. I had been going here for 5 years. No more.

Dont list you do instant inspections if you need to schedule an appointment. Went in on a Friday I had off & was told that you can only schedule an appointment when I was there. Then was told a date a week later(not too bad I thought) then it turned worse. Brought my car to get my inspection done, they Inspected & passed it about a week or so later noticed they didnt put back my engine cover($70~$300 part roughly) back on & stole a few other pins, also noticed last time when I got my wheels rotated they crossthreaded most of the lug nuts while working on it, will NEVER go back here again. I would not recommend this location overall.

Had an oil change done here, and the staff was simply amazing. They asked all the right questions, took care of everything, and had me on my way very quickly. It was also affordable. I would definitely recommend it!

The 1st review is now being changed. 1st experience there went well the second experience horrible. I got my oil changed at lunch, drove back to work. On my way home from my 2nd job my car stalled out my check engine light is on. I went back this morning and Stan read the code and said it was my O2 sensor. However, upon research and talking to a mechanic. The code P0010 is an issue with the camshaft position actuator circuit (bank 1) P0011 a camshaft position timing over advanced or system performance (bank 1) First thing I am going to another mechanic and will never return to this valvoline.

I made an appointment for a oil change and inspection all was punctual the manager did my inspection and found that one of my front headlights had lost a screw causing the lamp to be out of aliment . He fix it at no charge not to many business no longer do those little things.all in all this is a go back more than once kind of a place

The guys here are personable, professional and proficient. The turnaround is quick for an oil change and theyll cover the basics of preventive maintenance to ensure tires, wipers, liquids, filters etc are all good. I have my own mechanic for the big things but for what they do, this Valvoline and the ones who work there are top notch

I ve been waiting for an over hour to get my oil changed and it s still not done they advertise about 15 mins but that is not true! Theres only one car ahead of me in line. No one has acknowledged the long wait and the employees are chatting and shooting the breeze while I m stuck waiting in my car. Dont recommend go somewhere else

Worst experience ever the manager Carlos was horrible they couldn t help me in no way . Rushed me out with nothing done. Spoke with me the day before told me to come back 8am and then When I come they say it s no appointment in system. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

Fantastic service! The three man team are all amazing people and they got me in and out pretty quick. Quick note for anyone going in to get service: Dont expect to be in and out by 15 minutes if theres a line, theyre humans not robots. They know their stuff and are great people, worth the wait, trust me!

Im giving this place one Star because all I went for was a Oil change. My Brakes were good at the time. Well after the services were done they said I have a leak in my Brake Oil. I ended up with very little Brakes and I was scared driving the Car. I think they made a mistake or the Guy was new. I ended up taking my Car to my Mechanic to get the Brakes fixed. It was costly because I needed two new Brake Lines. All I know is I will never go back there again because they might break something else on my Car.

Seems like they keep deleting my comment so here we go again. Customer service states inspections are pull up at the crane street location. I pull up, denied service for inspection said the inspection bay is closed down and I have to make an apt and it could take a month I leave get it done elsewhere Called customer service, they state its still a pull up inspection to try again no apt needed. Okay I wait 1 year and go back, pull up denied service again. Employee states I need an apt. I dont have one. It states I dont need one. Denied service okay I leave. Call customer service again. Dont wanna leave a complaint I just wanna know if I can make a dang apt. They state we promise its a pull up no apt needed. Im like bro Olay wait 2 months bring my gf car in pull up denied service stating to and I quote go back to the shop you came from Im sure they will do it. so yeah Oil change yes. Inspection go elsewhere. They never seem to want to help anyone for inspections. Im sure corporate can look into there inspection sales and figure it out that there only doing a few cars a month. Employee states want me to get my manager cause he will tell you to go elsewhere as well Im like sir I just need an inspection I thought its no apt needed and hes like want me to get my manager Im like why tho.

Stan and Don are the best. I went here today because Walmart had over an hour late and I was already 8k miles over my oil change due date and I have a long drive tonight so I thought a oil change would be a good idea today. Lets just say I was not disappointed by the kindness and knowledge of these guys. They got the job done fast and we had good conversations. Ill definitely come here next time for my oil change. I recommend this place to everyone. They also replaced all my air filters and filled up all my fluids. They showed me my air filters and asked if I wanted them changed before they went and did it. I obviously needed them done because they were DIRRRRRTY. I want to give these guys a huge thank you and shout out for taking care of me today

Some background.....I just returned from a off-roading trip out west, which consisted of hard driving in the mountains, combined with hours driving at 85mph on the Interstate. Upon returning home, I was a bit low on oil and so I attempted to top it off until I had a chance to get the oil changed. I accidentally over-filled the oil, but drove it that way for a week or two until I landed at VIOC. I left after generally good service, however, upon returning home, I checked the oil level (as I always do), and it was still over-filled. So unless it is VIOCs policy to over-fill customers vehicles, Id suggest that I never actually received an oil change..........this is a serious accusation, I understand, but it my firm belief. Proving it is probably impossible, since I routinely get my oil changed regularly enough that color of the oil is difficult to use as proof.

Went and got my oil changed asked for just a Lube oil and filter and all I got was the oil and filter no lube and they put in the wrong oil the next day when Im going to back complain about this the assistant manager belligerent and rude I thought you wanted to fight me very unprofessional would not recommend going back

I picked this location based on reviews so I thought Id put my 2 cents in. Carlos and Rick did a fantastic job! Theyre very personable and professional. Unfortunately they are understaffed so I could not get my inspection done but everywhere you go is understaffed. So I wasnt totally surprised. Cant blame them for that. 10/10 I will use this location again!

Guys were quick and didnt try to overpressure into sales. Will return to them again. I did buy the air filter because it was super dirty.

After a huge mess up at a different Valvoline which was the worst Ive ever experienced, I took my SUV here. Carlos and Don did me a huge favor and corrected the mess that the Niskayuna location created. I wrote a five star review of the Rotterdam location seven years ago and also received great service. Ive taken my car here about four times total but everytime its been great. Although its a little further for me and its usually busy (whereas the Nisky store is usually not busy -probably because of their terrible service) I will go here only from now on. The Nisky store wasted a solid hour of my time. Rotterdam really stepped up. Thank you a thousand times Carlos and Don.

Convenient location, love just staying in vehicle and quick, courteous service.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. They never tightened my oil plug. So today when my truck said no oil pressure and started making noises and smoking I added oil. What happened when I put the oil in? Look to the picture to see it on the ground. They never used a tool to tighten the plug. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN.

This Valvoline Instant Oil Change location tends to soak customers into buying extras you really dont need, with what should be a simple oil change. I do not trust their employees. Avoid this place at all cost. Shady business practices is not worth the convenience of quick service.

Reasonably quick, air filter, oil filter and full synthetic oil change $128. The car was clean after work was done and they also topped off coolant that was a quart low.

This was my first time to Valvoline. The staff were very friendly and helpful staff. I was very appreciative that the gentleman recognized my license plate which says that I am a gold star mother. He asked if I had any coupons which I didnt. I was given a military discount. I thanked the gentleman graciously.

I was recommended this place of business and Immediately walked into this establishment and was greeted. As someone who has worked customer service for years in the past, thats a great first impression. The Manager listened to what was going on, had me pull around and staff immediately got right on it. I literally feel like I was in and out in no time and that was a first for me, and trust, i ve been to many locations in the area to get my car serviced. Was super pleased with this place and will be returning.
