went in today with a subaru making a funny noise and left very happy--I was greeted by pippi longstockings, a wonderful hostess indeed! she is the pup of one of the guys there, who was also very friendly. she kept me engaged and we had a lovely time together. as a woman, I always dread going anywhere to have my car handled for fear of being misled or ripped off (sad to say, isn't it?), but Carmax sent me here and I was skeptical. my issue was handled quickly and professionally, and most of all....with kindness. rare to find that these days. this shop has earned my next tire purchase, which easily can approach $1,000 total for all four and isnt a small decision. thank you to the crew at this goodyear--you guys are doing everything right. I'll certainly see you and crew again, pippi!

We had new tires installed at goodyear in Schenectady. It took over an hour past our appointment time for our large SUV to be pulled into the shop. We were told that it would be about 90 minutes but it took over 3 hours with the excuse that the SUV was too heavy for their lift and they had to use a hand jack. Then to top it all off after we left and got home we realized there was grease all over the driver door interior (leather) and exterior where the mechanic must have been opening and closing the door with the window down. So bad enough half our day was wasted now we have to clean and condition our door interior and hope it doesn't stain. We do not recommend this location as we have had much better experiences at other goodyears.
I had a tire that needed to be patched after having a flat late at night. I came in early with my three young kids and explained that I had to be at work soon. Everyone there was so friendly, engaged my kids and got the work done so quickly. Everything was explained very clearly through the entire process. They even gave us a great deal. If you’re looking for an honest, professional auto service shop, this is the place!
Scott was a huge help when I was charged twice for my service because of a computer system issue the day of my service. I notified him as soon as I noticed the extra charge and he resolved the issue within 24 hours. He kept me informed of his progress and followed up to make sure my account was credited. I have been going to this Goodyear for many years and it has always been a great experience!
Update from 6/922 After my previous review (below), Scott (the manager) reached out to me about my concerns. He understood why I was frustrated and gave me a partial refund as well as a coupon for a free oil change. We discussed my interactions with his staff, which he acknowledged needed to be improved. I was impressed by his responsiveness and his desire to maintain me as a customer and overall desire for customer satisfaction. I know that it has been a challenging time for businesses as whole in hiring staff and the automobile repair industry has been particularly challenged since they need trained employees. Based on today's visit, I am absolutely willing to give them another chance. Original Review (6/7/22) I have previously used this location and had good experiences, but I think they must be under new ownership, and their service was abysmal. I brought in my son's car for a free tire rotation and alignment check. First, they had no record of our appointment so what should have been a 30 minute appointment took most of the day. Then they could not get the lug nut off (even though the brakes had been changed last week so they were not rusted on) and then when trying to replace the studs, something stripped so they had to replace the hub as well. Net cost to me $320 for a free tire rotation. When I complained, they made no effort to improve the situation (like maybe discounting the labor). Needless to say, we won't be back.
I would like you to know about the really great personal service Mr. Scott Pincher, (Service Manager at 3713 State Street, Schenectady, NY 12304), provided my son and I over the course of the past 24 hours. When I phoned Scott to inquire about the price of a set of tires I was being quoted by a different Goodyear store on Day 1, he explained how I could save money by applying for and obtaining a Goodyear credit card. Even though it was getting close to the end of the business day, (and he was probably busy), he was very patient and professional and took valuable time to answer all of my questions in a kind manner. As a result of his attitude over the phone and concern for our best interests, we brought our car to him early the next day to have it fitted with 4 brand new Goodyear tires. When he said he could also accomplish a 4-wheel alignment right away, we were thrilled in that it saved us from making a second trip to his location. Knowing the car is now in alignment, means we can get the best use of this new set of tires. Not only did Scott do a great job, he also kept us informed regarding what he was observing and doing each step of the way. Yes, it took an extra few minutes to do this, but this occasional interaction made us feel very comfortable during the entire process. We also appreciate the option of waiting in the waiting area while the car was being worked on. Finally, he made sure I had a copy of the Invoice by Emailing it to me. I cannot emphasize enough how pleased my son and I are with his thoroughness and professionalism. He is several cuts above other Managers. Scott... Thank you for giving us a GREAT Service Experience!
I arrived just before 9 this morning to receive my inspection and my oil change. I was greeted warmly by Scott who was in the front end Lobby, he was very courteous, he was very friendly and he was able to help me right away with what I needed and checked me right in. It was a very inviting place to be because it allowed you to relax and not worry about what needed to be done and it was very professionally run. I'm going to now talk about the experience with my vehicle. This was also a great experience the tech that worked on my vehicle was excellent he was well informed he knew exactly what he was doing he was the one that performed the inspection on my vehicle and was very thorough. He also performed the oil change and also performed all the other text that needed to be done including the air filters in which he did find something that needed to be changed which was both air filters. Normally they would try to push items on to you while they're working on the vehicle that was not so in this case they let me know that the vehicle passed inspection but did need to get tires eventually and expressed concern that although they did pass the tires did seem like they were on the very cusp of not passing so they recommended that I get them replaced as soon as possible I thought that was excellent of them because they could have very easily just said while you need to replace them now but they didn't they were honest, and honesty goes a long way with me. Overall my experience there was an excellent one I truly enjoyed the conversation I had with Scott and during the wait for my vehicle the knowledge that the tech had was Bar None when it came to my vehicle and what needed to be done with it and the professional courtesy that was given to me and expressed in this facility was very much appreciated. If you ever need to have work done on your vehicle, I would definitely recommend this place. Thank you for listening. 🙂

I had an appointment for an inspection on Monday, August 1. I met with Scott at the desk. He came back after about an hour telling me I needed breaks and a tire to pass inspection. He changed his tune a little when my husband (women have a hard time with people who work with cars) came in, but still insisted that the car could not pass inspection without over $500 WORTH OF WORK! He said they already took the inspection sticker off. When we told him that I could not leave the car overnight so they could do the work, he said that they didnt, in fact, take the sticker off and he let us go. This means they lied!! The next day, my car passed inspection at another shop with abolutely NO problems detected. This alsao means THEY LIED! This is a shady operation.
Recently went with a family member to this location and its nothing like it was when Ryan was there. After hearing my family member get scolded for driving unsafe and not coming in sooner (which was unknown to the customer) and that theres no way they can take the car home tonight (had been there about 3 hours), the next day they send them home with the same unsafe parts on the car. They werent told of any issues until after it was too late to stop them for the night, it was too late to get a rental, and wasnt given the cost estimate until we were walking out the door. The cost was very expensive and seemed way too high, but they insisted this is with a discount. They also promised it would be ready first thing the next morning. I brought them to pick it up the next morning and the car was far from ready. Once completed the mechanic Kerry told him the cost was about half, as it turns out they didnt need to replace those unsafe parts after all. So the question is: did they want to increase their sales by doing work that wasnt necessary? Or were they trying to avoid a cost complaint and used the same parts that may be unsafe? Regardless, we wont be going back there after 25+ years of loyalty.
Amazing service - came in multiple times to get my car checked and Scott was incredibly helpful during all of those times. Last time I came in, they suggested doing my oil change and it was done right on the spot. Even made sure my oil change was cost efficient too! If you live in Schenectady/Niskayuna area, do yourself a favor and come here for all your car needs.

Love this garage. The ppl there r very helpful & trust worthy. They helped me figure out what was wrong w my car and helped me prioritize its needs and worked w me on the prices.
Went for a routine inspection of $21.00 and came out charged for almost $140.00 . The claim a dirty air filter and ripped wiper blades. I have a 2019 Honda CR-V, mind you , we just had a winter snow storm, I cleaned snow off the car my wipers were fine! I asked to see they looked like it was slashed. While in the waiting room another women was doing the same thing, getting an inspection and she asked why they taken the filters on out in the first place,its not required. She says she will not be coming back. My father recommended this place and thats why I went there bc its supposed to be reputable, but I could have went to jiffy lube, or vavaline where they do those shenanigans . Im really surprised but thats what mechanics do to women, who want to maintain their cars.I cant imagine what kind of prices , they would come up with God forbid for car repairs! I am genuinely shocked and disgusted! Not to mention absolutely outraged! Lost my business forever! womentrtheir cawould have to face if it was a repair job! Im thoroughly shocked and disgusted, and genuinely outraged!m
I have been going to Goodyear for quite a few years now and Ryan an staff have been awesome to taking care of all 5 vehicles that I have brought in. Would not go any place else!!!!
Ryan was very friendly and helpful when we first needed to buy tires. He ordered them and on Monday went to have the tires installed and met Scott. He was extremely professional and made sure all my needs were met. I am new to the area and Scott made the experience an easy and nonstressful one. Would certainly go there again.

I ve been going to this Goodyear since moving to the area in 2018. They ve put on a few new tires, done inspections and other fixes (brakes, bearings) to my 2011 Highlander. Ryan is great at managing the front and Scott and his team provide great service to my car. They are thorough, super helpful and finish the jobs when they promise. I recommend them 100%!

Scott was very accommodating. I shared my concerns with him about my vehicle and he was great at addressing my issues. He even squeezed my vehicle in that afternoon to do an alignment as I was making a 2,000 mile trip in a few days. This is my second time using this shop and both experiences were great. Its my go to.

I had a banged up tire stud that couldn t be removed with a lug wrench. I took my car to the Goodyear location at 3713 NY Street in Schenectady NY and the manager (Ryan Simmons) took care of me immediately and personally. He had the tools and knowledge and helped me out in 5 minutes. Fantastic customer service!! I ll be taking my vehicles to Ryan s location for my tire needs from now on.

About 2 pm last Saturday we were headed to a vacation in Maine. The TPMS light came on while driving on the NYS Thruway just west of Albany. Removed the tire, saw a nail in the tread, so we put on our spare, and searched for tire repair shops nearby. There looked like a bunch along a major road near the next exit. Well, every one we stopped at couldn t fix it until Monday because they were short handed. Time was passing and we really needed to get back on the road. We finally came across a Goodyear Auto Service shop, and spoke with Ryan Simmons. He told me exactly how they would repair the leak and said he could have it ready in under 2 hours. I m very particular about my cars, so I was reassured by his clear work description. He called after an hour and a half to say the tire was ready! Super helpful, very reasonable price, friendly, and professional. We made it to Maine a few hours late, but thanks to Ryan, we didn t have to stay overnight in Schenectady!!

I don t know a whole lot about cars and it s pretty obvious, but I never feel like I m being taken advantage of when I come here. The service is very honest. Scott has taken me back to the bay to physically show me what is wrong with the car, which gives me comfort. Honest company.

Had a couple 12 inch trailer tires I needed mounted before a trip. Called and they were willing to attempt to mount them unlike almost every other tire center I called. The gentleman met me in the parking lot and had them mounted in now time and was on my way. I was there less than 15 minutes. Great guys at this location. I went to Goodyear on 2/9 to buy some new tires. I was serviced by Scott who was really nice and informative. He even gave me back my old tires because they were still good enough to sell, so I can get some of my money back. I would definitely go back there again.

Goodyear auto service was amazing. I worked Scott Pincher, who from the beginning was awesome. He helped me find the best deal on tires, ordering them directly from corporate. When I dropped my car off at the wrong shop, Scott without hesitation went to pick my car up and brought it in for the work. He kept me updated throughout the whole time, letting me know what else my car needed without being pushy. Of all the places I called to get a quote on new tires, Goodyear auto service was the best priced and one of the few places who actually called me back. High recommend!

I ve visited the store on March 2, 2019. They were doing a simple tire rotation. They repaired about a half a dozen lugnuts and the cost was minimal. They even fit me in to have my yearly inspection done. They were very timely, courteous, and professional.
I walked in without an appointment with a hunk of metal in my tire with a slow leak. These guys had me in and out in 25 minutes with a patched tire at NO COST!!! lots of polite employees, this is why I continue to go back there!

Excellent customer service. Ryan works incredibly hard with every customer. Even though they had 2 service technicians sick on the day of my visit, Ryan worked himself, even staying late, to make sure we received first class service. Kudos to Ryan and thank you for everything.
Store is very understaffed, called mutiple times to try to set up a flat repair. But werent able to get me in for almost week! So what the point of paying $150 dollars for the tire protection package if you cant even fulfill the service? The guy at the front counter was upset that I demanded a refund of the tire protection. Stay away from all their stores!

These guys are the best! Scott P. and his crew came to my rescue on a super cold November day. My vehicle died and needed to be towed to a shop where it turned out the starter needed to be replaced. This Goodyear shop was closest and Im glad it was here. They were very professional and understanding of the situation. Once the issue was diagnosed they walked me through the repair, cost and how long it would take. By the end of the day I was told my vehicle was ready and the cost for repair was on point. I would highly recommend this Goodyear shop to handle whatever your vehicle needs. If repairs were this easy, I would imagine tires would be to!
Scott and the store manager at the Niskayuna store are the best! Every time I need something and I always wait to the last minute, they are super accommodating, and take care of my issues with all 4 of my vehicles. Brought my 2015 Toyota Highlander to the Toyota dealer for an inspection and was given a list of things wrong with my 26k car along with torn wipers that were not torn when I handed them my keys. Brought it to see Scott and he looked the car over and it needed nothing other then a few recommend thing coming up in the future. Passed inspection with no issues! When traveling in the area, I had a tire blow and needed a new tire right away. Although the store was very busy Scott worked out a time and a process that worked perfectly for me. I was very impressed with the customer service and efficiency. I only hope that I find a similar customer experience in my local Goodyear shop so that I don t have to make that 200 mile trip for my next set of tires. Thanks Scott!

Service was outstanding. The tech was a little less so because he missed that my vehicle needed 35lbs of pressure not 32lbs. They explain that the TPMS system may need to be reset by driving the car. We drive the car for a mile or so without the error code going away. We bring it back and the service manager found the issue and adds air to all the tires and the code is corrected. I point out that the proper pressure is clearly labeled on the drivers side door frame. I probably will not return there for future visits.

The State Street Good Year Tire Store in Schenectady, New York was excellent. The Service is superb! Purchased 4 new GoodYear Tires and they did excellent Service replacing and placing the new Tires. A Great Bunch of Guys!!! You will not go wrong if You go there and have your work done.
