Auto Pro - Troy in Troy

We have worked with Auto Pro - Troy multiple times over the past few years. They constantly beat the competition when it came to repair pricing, worked the best with our schedules, and constantly update us throughout the repair process. At the end of each visit they would give us an idea of what life expectancy we could assume on different parts of the car but were never pushy. It always felt like they were looking out for us rather than trying to just make a profit. They are our go to mechanic for everything these days. Also, front staff are some of the best I have ever dealt with. Thank you guys!

Took my car here for a minor issue that was resolved quickly and cost free but the reason I m giving them a low rating is because they quoted me almost $1000 to replace my suspension control arms/ball joints and I took it to another mechanic that I trust and they told me the wear is extremely minor and not needing to be fixed right now. Always get a second opinion on what they recommend.

Had my oil changed here again and, as always, it was quick and easy - and half the price of ANY quickie oil-change franchise. The only difference is that you don t sit in your car while they do the work. I was in and out of there in 20 minutes and paid just $45. All quickie franchises have been charging me $90+ for the same synthetic oil and filter.

I will 100% be coming to Auto Pro Troy for all my auto needs. They were thorough, professional, honest, and were clearly giving me the most affordable solutions and great quality of work. Can t say enough good things.

Do NOT spend your money here!!! $3500 to do an engine rebuild. Paid them in cash in full. Did NOT do a rebuild. NOW, my engine burns oil like crazy?! They hid from me for two weeks and then avoided the BBB when I launched an investigation into why I didn t get what I paid for. Again, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! Spread the word!!!!!! Response from owner is absolutely false. I was told a rebuild was necessary and I paid over $3500 in cash to get rebuild done. I informed their staff I would buy a refurbished engine to have it dropped in my car. I was instructed on it being better to have it rebuilt so you can lie all you want but I know what I paid for and was told it was going to be done. Then, your tech told me it would $15000 to rebuild my engine which is laughable. He acted as if he had an issue with me for no other reason than me taking issue with the HORRIFIC way a paying customer was treated. Why on Earth would I need to lie on you guys?! My car sat in your salvage yard area for weeks until I came by to see why you guys hadn t called me in WEEKS! I HAD to contact BBB because you guys kept AVOIDING ME?! Are you SERIOUS?! I had to sell my car because you guys BUTCHERED my engine!!! Again, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PPL!! I don t know if it s racism or what but I have ZERO reason to lie on these ppl! I paid them, on the spot, $3500 to have the work done!!!

UPDATE: Zain the owner immediately reached out after this review and apologized profusely and took full responsibility and even compensated me for the repairs I needed fixed. He truly cares about his company and customers, I will consider returning after my interaction with him. I have been here multiple times over the last few years and am disappointed to say i will never return. Lets start with my recent visit, i bring my car in because it was stalling on me while driving and my engine area was also shaking/jumping hard when starting. They tell me i need a new alternator which would fix the stalling but they cant figure out what the other problem is until after fixing that first, i agree to the repair, and pay for the new alternator. They then proceed to tell me that my intake manifold is warped and needs to be replaced and quotes me $1500 for it, i decided to get a second opinion since i feel like last year they may have taken advantage of me (we will get back to that). I tell the guy i cant afford it right now and he was very nice and said that they tightened everything up as much as possible on the intake manifold. So, i take it to another shop where they proceed to tell me that my intake manifold is not warped at all, and completely fine except that it is missing MULTIPLE bolts and multiple bolts were also loose. They told me that they think this shop (auto pro) messed with my intake manifold and removed bolts to cause a problem with it. I was astonished. They purposely tried to cause a problem with my car!!! Now lets talk about my visit from January 2024, I take my car in because my car alarm is going off every time i lock it, they quoted me around $300 for a new hood latch. They proceeded to call me multiple times throughout the day telling me i have x y and z wrong with my car and need it fixed asap. It went from $300 to $1600 to $2000 all the way up to over $3800 for a bunch of suspension work. Mind you, i had ZERO problems with my suspension but they claimed it was all very urgent. Im young and know very little about cars and they made it seem like it wasnt safe to drive it so i agreed in a panic, lesson learned. I deeply regret never getting a second opinion because after this recent interaction with them i truly believe most of that 4k i paid was stuff that didnt need to be fixed. And even after all that, paying 4k, i had to take my car back THREE times there the same day after picking it up because i had a nasty noise coning from the front of my car that wasnt there before, it took them three times of me bringing it back for them to fix the mistake they made, ending up spending my whole day there after giving them such a large amount of money, and by the second time they were acting like i was crazy cause they couldnt hear the noise i literally had to get one of the mechanics to get in my car with me and show him the noise. really goes to show how much they care for you and your car here. Moral of the story is, find a different mechanic to take your shop too and dont take your chances here.

Please beware of this shop. They only fix your car long enough to drive it off the lot. Then more repairs are needed. Get a 2nd opinion. They charged me a lot of money. When I brought it back the next day, they told me they would have their mechanic look at it. They called wanting another $800.00. I told them I would pick my car up. When I first brought my car in they kept it 3 days. This shop is not getting another dime from me. Auto Pro stop playing games with people HARD EARNED MONEY & CAR! I went to this place because of the positive reviews I read. I had to come back to set the record straight. Plus all those positive reviews, the person has only wrote one review which is a review for Auto Pro. Im out 800.00 & still have to take my car somewhere else to get it fixed properly. Dont be Auto Pros prey or fool dont even bring your car here. They get you because they say the diagnostic fee is free to tell you whats wrong with your car. Next you leave your car with them. They call you back saying we think its this but not sure on how much it will cost you until we get in there & start taking your car apart to see whats wrong. You pick your car up & next day the check engine light comes on. Before taking it to them my check engine light never came on. You take it back they want MORE money. There customer service skills are excellent they are as NICE as pie but they CROOKS CON ARTISTS they are ripping people off. Dont leave your car with these people it will be more damage done than when you first brought it in. Dont come here Dont even let them get their hands on your vehicle!!!!!!

They were not only consummate professionals, but they were empathetic and compassionate as well. I was offered a ride Home, so that I wouldn t have to wait there all day, they communicated with me every step of the way and they were able to diagnose and fix an issue that three other shops had given me incorrect diagnoses on and repair costs at three times the price. I can t recommend them highly enough. Unfortunately, they weren t able to change my 2015 Kia soul into the 1966 TV Batmobile, but I m hopeful for next time! I still have another more repair to do on my car and I won t be taking it anywhere else. Ever again. That may have something to do with the fact that they are still holding my grandparents hostage. (lol)

Was at a doctors appointment, came out, ready to go home and my car wouldnt start. Called for road side service, but I didnt want to go to far. Checked my location and found, Auto Pro nearby. Called them, told them what was going on and they said, Well take care of you. I was instantly relieved Got there, and they first checked what was happening, told me the cost, worked with my budget and had me out in a couple of hours. They also had a agent/rep there that looked like a model in GQ and he was nice. I watched some TV, had some snacks and relaxed. Yes, I recommend them. Yes, Ill be going back for future services. Yes to Auto Pro!!!

Cant say enough good things about this mechanic. Thomas was beyond helpful and went out of his way to provide excellent service. I was extremely impressed. He called me multiple times while my car was in the shop to update me on the progress and took the time to explain things. I also appreciated the free safety inspection so I know about some repairs Ill have to do in the near future. Lastly, the master mechanic (I think his name is Mike?) also went out of his way to help me. There was extensive rodent damage to my cars wiring beyond what I initially brought the car in for. He discovered a lot of chewed wiring and wrapped them up at no charge so they wouldnt cause issues later. I would definitely recommend this place.

TROY AUTO PROS Honestly, these guys are 1 in a million!!! I was needing to get my Charger winter ready and gave them a call on a Friday afternoon to see if they could at least get me on a list to get the work done and with even how busy they were they took me in that same day and next day I was picking it up! (Front/rear brakes and rotors, new set of tires, alignment, and more!! Unreal and I m so thankful and hope everyone has a happy holidays and there is a reason why I choose them and family chooses them to do our repairs! Thank you and keep the blessings rollin!

Auto Pro -Troy is hands down the best auto repair shop Ive ever had work on my car. They are fast taking same day drop offs, diagnose the car promptly, have exceptional customer service, get the car back to you quickly, and the staff is super transparent/informative on everything they do on your car going so far as to show you your parts with knowledge on why they failed. Customer service is excellent; everyone I have talked to has been helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. They keep you in contact with a service representative who knows cars so you have a point-of-contact on your car the whole way through repairs. At this point, Ive had my engine oil cooler replaced, engine oil lines replaced, turbocharger replaced, transmission coolant lines replaced, engine oil/coolant flushed, transmission oil flushed, and spark plugs replaced. My last round of repairs is continuing to work six months later, and they stand by their work. A big thank you to my representative AJ and the mechanics that worked on my car for keeping my old car running! Ill be back for whatever the next repair happens to be!

Driving several hours on a Friday evening up to Michigan to see family for the weekend, we started to experience a problem with a cylinder misfiring. We knew that getting help on a Saturday would be difficult and this could ruin the entire family weekend. But we really didnt want to drive home with a car having substantial issues when accelerating. I called Auto Pro first thing Saturday morning and they readily agreed to see if they could find the problem before they closed. They stayed in touch with my husband and me during the entire process, and they gave us options each step of the way so there were no surprises and we were in control of what level of risk we were willing to take. In the end, not only did they find the issue, but they were able to get it all resolved before 2pm on Saturday so we had a working car for the rest of our weekend plans and to make the long drive home the next day. I cannot say enough about the fantastic customer service as well as the skilled support that we received.

I had a very good experience at Auto Pro - Troy. From start to finish, the service was top-notch. The staff was friendly and professional, taking the time to walk me through exactly what needed to be done on my car (I brought my car in for brake repair and oil change). They thoroughly inspected it and gave me a fair and honest estimate (unlike the overpriced Land Rover dealership). The work was completed in a timely fashion and they even went the extra mile offering ride service to take me home and pick me up as soon as the work was complete, providing warranty on repairs, and applying a coupon/discount on the services. My car is riding smoothly without any squeaks from my brakes and I can t thank them enough for getting me in last minute before they closed on a Saturday (Dealership service isn t even offered on the weekend). I just moved to the area and was unsure of where to go. I m so glad I found this place and will definitely be returning for future auto repairs and highly recommend Auto Pro - Troy to anyone in need of trustworthy, reliable auto service. Unbelievable courtesy and care from this shop! I am from out of state and had a severe engine issue pop up out of the blue during a visit to family in the area. As one of the few shops open at the time, AJ and Reid were SUPER helpful getting me in for a diagnosis and evaluating options that were readily available. Their communication was express and you can tell they legitimately care about getting their customers taken care of. I have lived in 3 different states, and had home shops in each one, and even they dont compare to the level of service I received at Auto Pro. Cant say enough good things about these guys!

Brought in a 2005 Lexus rx330 and was hearing a squeaking that was only happening in reverse. I figured out it was the u joint/driveshaft, but when it was brought in by my girlfriend she told them multiple times it was coming from below the car aka the driveshaft and had a video with the noise that was coming from it and they for some reason refused/didnt believe her? Proceeded to tell her the diagnosis was a slightly broken dust shield. Which makes no sense since the noise goes away if you switch from R into N as you roll back. They didnt even take the time to get in the car and drive it for a minute. And the repair was quoted for 600$ for something that wouldnt even solve the issue. Actually insane, not sure if because my girlfriend was by herself and they didnt believe her or what, but this is ridiculous. Edit: The owner is fantastic, he responded to the issues we had and was able to remediate the problem and offered an amazing solution. Big props to the owner as he seems like a great guy that is willing to right any wrongs in the shop. Definitely recommend.

Ive been using AutoPro for years and they always do a great job. I dont worry that Im getting ripped off when I go there. Flexible financing helps a lot too.

Employees were nice but I feel did not have any knowledge of what was really wrong with my jeep or anything spent over 1,300$ just for every noise and things I took it in for to still be there and wrong with it. Makes absolutely no sense seemed more worried about trying to get me to have them do my front struts and tell me how good my engine looks instead of trying to find the actual issue that is wrong with it ( The issue was not the struts) ridiculous overpriced and unknowledgeable in my opinion. I will not be returning.

Hey guys! I went to autopro back in June. I went in for a battery cause I knew I needed one. First the sales front desk staff are absolutely great at their job! That is was gets you. They told me I had a leaking valve cover on my engine. Even though I brought my car there for an oil change 1 month prior. Never been serviced by anyone else than the Chevy Dealer so I thought this was very worrying that this was not caught nor had I been told at the oil change that this was a problem. Weirdly that oil change was given for free as a 2 for 1 deal since I went in with my significant other. I decided to ignore them and just watch the oil. Went to get my next oil change back at the dealership and they actually said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was wrong other than some air filters. Very odd! Anyways watch out for their additional recommendations. Also check their work. -Dr. Fuentes Update: 9/9/24 Owner Zain, did a great job finding a resolution. We agreed that there was an inaccurate recommendation made from the mechanic/technician that was working on my car. This error did cause extra unnecessary stress and could have been a financial burden. I do appreciate Zain taking the time to listen and hope that the feedback does make more improvements for future customers. I have updated rating from 1 star to 4 stars. I know the store cannot confirm or deny that changes have been made internally, but I did want to improve the rating as I was satisfied with my resolution. As far as customer service from Zain, I would give a 5/5 stars. He does a great job and if you do have problems as a customer, I would recommend sending any feedback to him.

This is by far the most fantastic car shop I have ever been too. The treated us better than most people s family treat each other and literally helped us out at a time we couldn t see how we could do it for ourselves. They blessed us so deeply I would never recommend anyone else. Also they have the best rates if your getting you full synthetic oil change. It was $70 cheaper than the place we had previously used with a coupon and I didn t need one there. Go check them out!!! The shop personnel had conducted business courteously and professionally. The A/C had been recharged but it is still inoperative. I may need an electrical system isolated check.

This repair was the second return visit under warranty related to the engine coolant system. The first return was due to a hole in the upper radiator hose caused by serpentine belt. The second visit was caused by both an unfasten bolt on the water pump and a defective thermostat.

I am a new customer and was led to them by the excellent Google reviews. I took an Acura RDX with a broken AC to them. They did an excellent job of telling me in very technical detail what the problem was and how much it would cost to fix it. They also have a courtesy shuttle which I used. They were flexible with the price and AJ their main customer contact person was very polite and understanding and he threw in some freebies for me since this was a big job. The Evaporator coil had to be replaced. They also fixed the car in quick time since I travel every week from Indiana to Michigan and back. They also called me a couple days after the car was fixed to ask me if the AC was still working fine. Good guys and I will definitely use them again if needed.

Last month I came in to get my AC fixed and returned last week to get new brakes and struts, along with getting some issues found along the way sorted out. Ryan was in charge of my car and was beyond attentive, respectful and helpful! I got pictures, updates and explanations for everything. The payment options were flexible too. I recently visited Auto Pro - Troy to diagnose a transmission light issue. As a young woman coming in alone, I was appalled by the experience I had. Within just 25 minutes, the mechanic claimed that a valve within the transmission wasnt delivering fluid and quoted me an outrageous $6500 to fix it. This raised suspicions, so I sought a second opinion. The second mechanic identified the real issue: a problem with the torque converter, and quoted $4000 for the repair. It s clear that Auto Pro either misdiagnosed the problem or, worse, attempted to take advantage of my situation to overcharge me. I strongly caution anyone, especially young women, against trusting Auto Pro. Their lack of professionalism and integrity is unacceptable. Find a mechanic who is honest and fair, unlike the ones at Auto Pro.

Auto pro -Troy auto shop. I had an issue on Monday they Auto Pro assisted me in getting a tow truck which was free of charge if you get work done in their shop. Big thank you to Ryan he went out of his way to relieve some stress and assure me that they would fix the issue. I had an issue that I thought would be in the thousands but they inspected everything and let me know what the problem was and how they would go about getting my vehicle through the whole process. Im just going to tell you all up front these guys are the real deal. They were honest with me about what they could do and what the price would be. Unfortunately due to circumstances I was not able to have my repairs done by them. But they were timely, respectful, and even didnt charge me for a tear down that they did to try to diagnose the problem. Which by the way was $500 they didnt charge me! I would recommend them 100%. Went to AutoPro after looking online for a shop with good reviews. Took our daughters used car in for a 2nd opinion, prepared for the worst news, hoping for the best. Worst news, car is trash. We agreed for them to run the diagnostic testing needed at $175. Unfortunately it was going to require parts being pulled to assess further. Ryan was honest about probably not getting anything good out of doing more work to the car. We explained we just need a car to get her to and from college. Anyway he waived the testing charges! Zero, zilch, nada. We paid nothing for their service. Who does that nowadays? No one, but apparently AutoPro does. We will definitely go back and recommend them to anyone! I baked some homemade treats for them just to say thanks!!

Absolutely a disgrace.. They kept my car for almost 2 days. Claimed they did a simple oil change, which they did not. I took it to a different oil shop on the same day, and the oil was thick black. Also claimed they did other work they did not do. I wouldnt recommend this shop for any of your repairs. They lack integrity !!!

The best auto repair experience I ve ever had! For starters the place is clean and neat,I was greeted upon walking in and the staff is very professional. They ran a free diagnostic on my car (which was fast and accurate) and they also gave me good price points. They also have free refrigerated water in the waiting room! Went here because it was close and my brake seized up, was told my rear spring was broke and calipers were at 1%, they lied and even sent me pictures. Beware of this place, I had a bad vibe and gut instinct was right. Scammers

I visited Auto Pro shop for first time few days ago to fix the issues with my 2010 Jeep Liberty and I was pleasantly surprised with the professionalism of Auto Pro team. Soon upon the entering I was noticed and greeted.by Khan whos professionalism and knowledge remained me the Enterprise Rent a car top management employees. He was listening what I had to say and then he explained to me the options and process of what needed to be done. I was without appointment and he never made a comment about that, instead he was trying to make me welcome and put me in eas to bring my decision. Also, he offered to drive me home but I chose to wait in the clean waiting room with Roku TV, complimentary water, coffee and snacks. During the wait he was informing me about progress and findings regarding the vehicle issue. If you are looking for the Auto shop you should give them a try and you will not be disappointed
