I have been taking my car here for about 2 years and every time the guys who work there are amazing. They are kind and courteous and efficient. They have gone above and beyond to help me and make me feel welcome. I absolutely recommend taking your vehicle here.
Had a mishap and my window got broken during a repair but the owner joe reached out and made it right. That’s good customer service.
Fred’s son always takes care of me and the techs are attentive and pleasant
Forget about using Fred's tire for auto repair I was sung along for a week telling me all my parts were in for strut and shock repair and got left holding the bag at the last minute The place is an unorganized mess Corey is a good guy but I don't know what happens in that place but I had to I had to seek elsewhere. They've lost a good customer and I'm sorry to have to write this negative review maybe it's good for tires but for auto repair and dependability and reliability it is not
Very timely, professional service. I called at noon and dropped my car off and it was done by 4 for two new tires. Would def recommend!
Extremely professional, helpful and knowledgeable. My initial visit was to get a used tire, but he was able to plug it. He also gave me advice on the condition of the tire that was being affected by an issue in the front end. Helpful and not pushy at all. Definitely would recommend them for your automotive needs.
I needed a mid pipe for my exhaust (it connects the exhaust pipe from the drivers side to the passenger side before the muffler) they took 3-4 hours to do it blaming the part delivery guy, price seemed average. However the owner said that I had some small pinholes in my muffler and his tech patched them with “mechanic grade” patch. At the time I was grateful but a couple weeks later my muffler was loud and I went to look at the problem and I found TWO large triangular shaped gaping holes in my muffler which weren’t there before I brought it to the shop. His tech must’ve done the damage and expected me to bring it back for a muffler job. I bought the muffler myself with some brackets and liquid wrench and installed it for $150. All the good reviews are his friends and family or customers he chooses to treat well for some good reviews. Don’t go here, he’ll break your car so you’ll be back. This was the Renselaer location as there are 2-3 different locations.
I've brought my car a few different places in this area and these guys are great. They have given me reasonable pricing and have done solid work on my car, super quick and low stress, too. They have fixed big stuff like my brakes, and little stuff like me breaking off my rusted license plate screws. It's no frills and looks a little messy inside, but honestly, I don't need frills, I just need my car fixed sometimes!
I went to Freds in late Summer of 24 for a strut replacement. He did the work for 800 but when I picked it up it had a loud clanging noise from front driverside tire. I brought it back he fixed it. I asked if its all good no other suspension problems like axles , he said no. I return for an oil change on 1/10/25 and say to him upon paying for oil change there is still a noise coming from the front end. He says outer balljoints need replacing. I leave and 3days later( 1/13/25 )my oil pressure light comes on, stays on, then goes out. It does this for about 3 more days. Than the check engine light comes on and oil pressure light. They stay on solid. Im curious to know whats going on ( I strongly disbelieve in coincidences ) so I go on the forum online and ask a few mechanics they tell me get a new oil change possible something got knock loose or faulty filter. Checked oil level on the dipstick it was way passed the fill line. Took it to Valvoline where they drained 6 quarts of oil and replaced it with 4.5 quarts 0w 20. They tell me it was overfilled. The light stays out and come back on a day later. Before all this I was rear- ended at a yield sign ( 12/17/24 ) and finally got the green light by insurance to bring it to body shop. I choose Primeaus, they are also a mechanic shop. I have them check out the codes (P03400 and PO523) and front end. They replace an AXLE and two of the three oil pressure switches and do the body work. I get the car back 7 days later runs well, but the lights came back on. I take it Lia where I was getting the timing done . While there they had to replace all 3 oil pressure switches because the one on the rocker arm was not replaced and the other two were OEM parts only genuine parts for this job the tech said. Plus it was filled with the wrong viscosity oil and way to much was put in he also said. The car runs good for 300 miles then the check engine light illuminates and flashes. The car lost power, and vibrated real bad ( misfire cylinder 2 was the code ) Come to find out it needed all 6 spark plugs replaced ( all drenched in oil )and the coil replaced. Now its drives like brand new. I paid Freds 92.00 and ended up paying close to 2000 to fix what he has caused. Dont think it cant happen to you. You go to Freds, IT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU.
There is perfect timing
Freds is an awesome place with a family environment to work in
Very good, very fair shop. Labor rates are standard for the industry, didn t try to upsell me. Very friendly staff. Definitely would go again
Excellent work every time ..always take care of my vehicle needs
If you are looking for good tires, this is the shop. Good People
Fast, Friendly and Efficient. Extremely blessed to have my car catch a flat near this shop. The help was quick and made a stressful situation a lot better. Thank you
Stopped in yesterday to make an appointment for an oil change.Had the kid behind the counter tell me my dad doesnt work on cars over 150,000 miles. Returned recently to give it another, try had a flat. Told me my wheel bearing was bad, a other tech seconded the motion. 600.00 to replace the bearing. Went to the station down the road for second opinion on the bearing. Nothing was wrong with the car, second mechanic could have ripped me off and didnt had a turned belt in the tire, bought a new tire, shaking stopped. Didnt need a 600. Repair Careful ladies its a rip off joint, tires only!
Great work and done quickly. This place is honest and will not rip you off. I appreciate they work they did on two cars. The mechanics are very friendly and helpful.
Reasonable and quick service
Cordt at the Troy location is wonderful. Very kind and attentive. I wish the other shops would send him help. He needs others so he can work more efficiently.
They replace a part i had brought to them to install and made it east to fix. Great shop and they wont screw you.
Good price, fast and very friendly workers
The guy Court was awfully nice.. I am not mechanically inclined so I told him my tires were 19565 r14s and what they are is 16565r14 but he was very nice and told me that the tire I needed replacing just the rim was so damaged was so bent that it that it made it seem as though the tire was no good so he only charged me a few dollars to straighten the rim out and put my original tire back on the car I just hate the fact that my tires are very hard to find unless you pay a whole $120 which is what I got to pay to get the two rear but hes an awfully nice man he does awesome work too I heard about him in the past actually my daughter is the one that turned me on to him and she told me hes excellent so Ill take her word over anybodys
Their honest approach was refreshing in whats widely known as a dishonest industry. I was very appreciative on thier turnover time and attention to detail. I feel confident in bringing my vehicle to them in the future for any service needs.
Stopped in for tire replacement had the best experience I would recommend this place 100% I had to order the tires the guy told me they could come in late this afternoon and he could install them tomorrow morning I paid the down payment and went home not even 2 hours later I get a call my tires were in and he could replace them today if I got there before his appointments at 3 so I did and he did a great job putting them on he had me back on the road in 15 minutes
Bought a car Very pleased
Easy to get to. Quick service.
Great place to have whatever you need done. Oil change in 20 minutes.
Great service and good prices. Tires prices good, mechanical great and prices are good
Great place.
Super speedy and helpful. I was stressed upon arrival, but the whole process went so quickly I was shortly on my way
I popped two tires and dented the two wheels, he had tires in stock and was able to do it right away and it was very inexpensive, tires were a high quality brand with tons of tread left on them, saved me a lot of time and money!
Great Customer Service. Great prices. Amazing!!
They r awesome family friendly
Thank you so much! Service was above and beyond expectations. In and out.
Very friendly.. they dont try to upsell stuff...
They take advantage of women and charge ridiculous prices and they dont fix your problem they patch it up so you have to bring it back. I paid them $1500 to do my brakes and a flex pipe and my ABS light is still on.
Theyre awesome people. Great timing, great price. Most of all the work is done correctly.
The son is good people helped me out quickly and at a fair price.
