I needed my steering and alignment looked at, they towed my car there because the battery died, they inspected my steering and found that it would cost a small fortune to fix, so they charged my battery for me and didn t charge me any money for their time. My jeep broke down at my job aon sat and cory happened to come into our store he one of our favorite customers and told him what was going on he took the time out not even working to try and get it started it would not start a couple hours of trying. I had it towed to his garage and a few hours later they called to say it was ready. I am very pleased with Georges garage and very thankful to Cory. I would recommend anyone to go to them. They are not knowledgeable at all, do not see the complete picture & messed up my car. My car was taken there with a broken axle for a replacement. Although they did well replacing the axle, they FORGOT to put back the differential that measures car speed to the wheel. So they return car with ABS & Traction control light on. I immediately went back to ask why that is the case. They said they would see that next week. Asked if it is safe to take the car to NYC in this position, the person who worked on my car said ABSOLUTELY no problem, it would only be problem in snow!! I had rented car with me provided by my insurance so if my car was not ready I could have continued the rented car for free. But when coming back for NYC due to the messed up ABS & Traction control my transmission overheated and almost completely failed. When went back to the shop they kept the car for another week and everyday they would lie and say today well work on your car. At the end told me the guy worked on your car forgot to put back the differential to the wheel for speed measurement that led to this issue. They were not even sorry for the mistake and without giving me any estimate billed me again for their own mistake. Even then they failed to resolve the transmission issue. Even the second time they did not check the trans oil level and needed to add 1 quart of oil. Still the transmission is slipping!

I would spend my last dime to gwt my car here from anywhere in the country before I trusted another mechanic with my car. Theyre worth every penny. Came in a few months ago and asked if they could get my car up to par and inspected. Informed Corey of the trouble Ive been having with it and requested he please put my new brakes on. He said he would and I went home. At one point, I got a call (sooner than I thought), and I could hear the tone in his voice and knew it wasnt good. He told me my cars subframe was rusted out and did not charge me for the work he started before he realized. He told me how unsafe it was and even gave me the layout of what could potentially happen if I continued driving it. So thankful for him for being honest. It so SO difficult to find trustworthy mechanics these days. I came in again yesterday to tell him about the problems I have been having with a car dealer I bought from. He offered to inspect any vehicle before I buy it and gave me pointers on how to deal with this scam artist. Highly recommend if youre looking for a mechanic that cares about your safeties over profit. Will 100% be coming back. (August 14 Update) Always looking out for me. Truly heaven sent.

My daughter is away at college in Troy so I needed to find a good garage when she had car trouble. This place has went above and beyond. She has had four visits and she has always gotten quick appointments and they have helped her in ways that even my local garage doesnt. I wish I lived closer.

This shop has repaired my cars ever since my second second opinion finding nothing wrong with my car just minor repairs were needed not major repairs as the other shop indicated etc... Ive been coming to Georges for a few years now, and I am always pleased with the service. They always take the time to explain what they are doing and why. I appreciate the quick service and reasonable prices.

I had done alot of bussness with George yesrs ago. He was a great guy. His son now runs the shop. He gave me a price and it was fair so i scheduled an appointment. Whene i went to pick it up he charged me $100 more. And he said oh well i have to pay the extra 100 and was pretty rude. So i would not reccomend anyone going there and find a different shop. I hope this review helps others so they dont have an experuance like mine.

I have been coming here for a few years now. I have never left this place feeling less than. From a family friendly environment to honest prices with fast and quality work, this is a stand up establishment if I ve ever seen one.

A local chain repair shop raised a red flag during my annual inspection, saying my oil was foamy and that I would need a $1600 Head Gasket repair for my 09 VW Rabbit. I had been to Georges before with a mystery problem on my other vehicle, which they figured out and fixed, so I brought my VW to them. They suggested a fresh oil change and a days driving to more fully diagnose the issue. What they found? Nothing...probably just an issue leftover from the last oil change...my oil was clean and no coolant was leaking into my engine. Ill take a $60 oil change over a $1600 head gasket repair any day! Big thanks to Corey for his knowledge and professionalism. These guys know their stuff and ONLY do what needs to be done...

Cory and Bill did a tremendous job repairing my car. I had a crack in the rear main seal of my 2014 GMC Terrain, they methodically researched then repaired my car. My experience with George s Auto Repair was tremendous. Additionally, I was traveling from out of town so they offered to meet after the shop was closed. Great customer service and tremendous quality. I highly recommend George s Auto Repair for anyone in the area.

I got my current car almost 2 years ago to the month (next month being June), and I have had my car down to Firestone down below 8th street, and a couple times they (Firestone) wanted to screw me over. A few examples Ill provide are when they claimed my spark plugs needed replacement due to mileage, they were good/fine. They claimed my struts were missing and a few other things of related were blown out, a lie. At my most recent tire swap out to New summer tires, they broke part of my valve stem to my left rear tire and tried ripping me off over $400 on top of the already over $400 for replacement tire pressure sensors. My grandfathers friend and I took the rim and had the guy in the shop across the river throw a rubber valve stem in and I bought a set of 4 off ebay for a little over $40. And they claimed they hooked up to my cars 12 volt battery and tested it and said that its within reasonable qualifications for what is a good battery but said to be back in 90 days, with where my 12 battery is, Im almost guarantee thats a lie too. These people are a pretty great bunch of people. I had an O2 and headlight sensor go out on me, I bought the latter, and they put both in with no trouble. Ive come here for my NYS inspection, and am in and out in a few minutes.

Threatened to personally assault me for no reason.I just wanted to ask him to inspect what is wrong with my AC.Maybe he was drunk or whatever but very unprofessional and extremely impolite person.Wont recommend to anyone.Stay away from this place

Had a great experience with these guys, I had to get my engine replaced. They took care of everything in a timely manner and took time to explain what they did with it. I ll be taking my car to them in the future if I have any other issues for sure

My college student son brought his car to another place in Troy who not only tried to rip him off with overpriced unnecessary repairs but also tried to get him to apply for their credit card to pay for it! Brought the car to George s and they were extremely fairly priced, provided the needed repairs and got my sons car fixed the same day!! Cory was a pleasure to deal with!! Highly recommend!!

If you are a woman, DO NOT TRUST THEM. I went here because the reviews were great. I needed a new clutch, and clutch plate. Two months later, I started to have clutch issues, and when I called, the owner told me they dont have warranties, and I probably drove it wrong, and damaged it myself. Um, I think NOT, the original clutch was over 20 years old, so there is no way I damaged this one in two months. I know how to drive a stick. So my cousins, who is a male, called and spoke to the same gentlemen. My cousin told him [since he understands clutches] the reason is either [sorry, I dont remember I dont know how they work]. The owner was very polite with my cousin, and told him to bring the car in. hmm. How come when I called, I was told there are no warranties, and it was my fault. But when my cousin called, they admitted they probably made a mistake and to bring it back in. SO I REPEAT. IF YOU ARE A WOMAN, DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!!

I used to go to a different mechanic before. Had a couple of bad experiences with them. So, I decided to shift to Georges. The people there are courteous. They did a really good job of undoing some issues in my back breaks that my previous mechanic caused.

My first experience with this shop was really good. I needed an inspection done and the guys at the garage were friendly and knowledgeable. Ill be back for maintenance on my car.

Very happy with their timing belt inspection. It was an older car with no history, and they gave me peace-of-mind at a fair price.

Was quoted $500 in just labor for 1 part in order to get my car inspected at another garage. Brought my car to Georges, $160 later, car is fixed and inspected. Fair pricing and definitely NOT scammers here. Highly recommend!

Im a PhD student in the area with no personal ties to him, and in every repair, hes been nothing but a super straight forward, honest guy, and he does excellent work at extremely reasonable prices. For example, today he fixed an exhaust manifold leak for me at 30% of the price I was quoted at another place. Every single time I go in, Im impressed with the work and the value. Wont go anywhere else!

Off to a good start with a new mechanic after we moved to the neighborhood. Friendly and accommodating.

This shop is lack of management. They cut corners on fixing cars, and they scam people. I bought a used car and there was an emission issue with it. I spec out all the necessary parts and bought them online to replace the whole evap system. I didnt have the equipment to replace them myself, so I asked them to do it for me, which would be an 1.5-hour work normally. After they finally called me back after a week, the emission test failed, and I realized they cut corners by only replacing a portion of the evap system, so the leaks at the hoses were still there. It took another week to fix the issue and pass the test, and he made up another issue to charge me more fees. I knew it was made up because I had checked the car before I sent it in, and he didnt even ask me before he fixed the issue he claimed. The whole time management was what drove me crazy. He would tell me to stop by on Friday and told me they were busy on the same day. There were times he called me the car was fixed, but when I got there, the car was not ready for pickup, which made me walk all the way there in vain. A 1.5-hour work took them almost three weeks and they over-charged me. The communication was terrible, and I never knew what was going on if I didnt call him first after he said he would call me. He couldnt even write a proper quote/invoice. George always had his feet on the desk like he didnt care the money and time he costed me. I strongly suspect that the Google reviews are manipulated. I picked this place because of the misleading review, and I would not like to see others fall into the terrible situation like I did.

From simple oil changes to big engine and differential repairs Georges has helped maintain my 200,000+ high mileage explorer through it all and my sons f150 thats nearing the 300,000 mark. Awesome service friendly staff

Brought in my 1979 Corvette to George s... I had the engine replaced and the guy who installed the engine gave it which to me sounding like an airplane when I started it. Brought it in to George s to finish the job and the corvette has never sounded/ran better. Great communication and the job was finished very fast. I can tell you first hand, it is very hard to find a good mechanic, especially for the corvette . They were about the 4th business I had used this year.

They got me in in a pinch when every other garage was telling me it would be at least a week. I went with Georges based off of awesome Google reviews and they did not disappoint. They are professional, and super nice. I will definitely be bringing my car back to them, if I ever need work done.

Wish I could give 6 stars, these guys had my car heated and waiting after payment. There is no need to go anywhere else for auto repairs. Definitely good business.

I came to Georges Auto Repair - after essentially being dismissed by a dealership - with a door handle malfunction. Ford literally advised me to try superglue on my car. But Georges was easily able to accommodate me and fix the issue on a late Friday afternoon, just before closing. They were helpful, professional, and fast! I am so appreciative of their help. I will definitely be back!

Id been having a rough ride on and off for awhile, and was worried the fix would be very expensive. I called, brought my car in the same day, and was able to pick it up that afternoon. Price was reasonable (low to midrange for estimates found online) and so far my car is running great now. They were pleasant, quick, and professional. Id definitely bring my car there again.

Honest, fair and experienced service

So I have a 2004 Honda Odyssey and I had a problem with my ignition key Tumblr that was probably going to end up costing me a couple thousand dollars at the Honda dealer and completely not worth it to get fixed. I brought it to Georges and and his guys were able to fix it for only a few hundred dollars. They get the job done and save you a lot of money neighborhood keeping the money logo and they do a great job theyll always get my business.

I had an intermittent issue with my truck for 8 months that I had thrown tons of parts and time at. Georges garage has it diagnosed and fixed by lunch. Pretty timely guys and super down to earth. Fair price too.

I cant say enough about Georgese George and his team were there for me ! Found an electrical issue that to me was a tedious tiring frustrating job. I read tons of electrical issues with jeep commanders where dealerships can not find these problems. And now I know why . Because they only the obvious. George goes deeper then just under hood. He traces the system through diagnosing everything. And as he told me . Be patient we will find problem because dont want it to happen again for me. Guess what he found it. It was under cargo seat in back . Bad wire to ebs sensor unit. Screwed everything up. Showed up as bad altenator somewhere else. Problem was deeper and Georges found it. Rides great no issues . God I am greatful.

After having my brakes inspected at Firestone and getting a very high estimate I decided to get a second opinion at Georges per a friends recommendation. Not only were George and staff friendly and helpful they quoted me HALF the amount that firestone had and indicated which of the services firestone had recommended were actually needed vs ones that were just going to rack up a bill. So glad I decided to check them out, I will be coming here for all of my car maintenance from now on and would encourage anyone else too as well.

I knew I had a coolant leak and needed my car the next day. These guys ran a pressure test, sourced a new radiator from Albany, and installed it all in about 3 hours. This was no minor repair. Clutch.

Firstly unfriendly and rude people. They have changed my stater. They didn t close air filter cap good and they lost bolts of it. Also they lost battery box. When I realized it and went to there. He told me that come tomorrow 10:00 I was there 10:00 and he said me come afternoon. I went to that place 5 or 6 times for their mistakes(in 6 days) and price is quite expensive too. They charged me for starter 300$. I asked another store. They asked just 150$. The worst place I have been there to repair car.

A fair and humble garage

I first went to see George when i saw him pulling out of his garage in a 68 Chevelle SS. i needed someone who could work on my older cars, a 67 Buick and a 67 Grand Prix. Not only did he get them running GREAT, he took the time to do some old school things like rebuilding the weights in the distributor calling around to several part stores to find hard-to-get parts and spending the time to adjust the timing and carburetor just right - things nobody else would take the time to do. he actually came to my house, got the grand prix running and drove it to the garage so i wouldnt have to deal with getting a tow. he just took care of everything. who does that these days? George is my go-to guy for all our cars.

They told me it would take 1 hour to evaluate the problem of my car. But it actually took them 3 hours to do that. They dont respect the customers time. Also their price is ridiculous. They asked for $200 to fix the problem of my car. But another store only ask for $50. I suggest my friend NOT go to this place.
