If you go to a dealership of a chain place when you can go here, you're nuts. Fast, fair, and competent. Doesn't get much better.

This shop will take your money without completing work. Had my spark plugs “changed” back in November. Fast forward to the day before New Year’s EVE and I break down in Boston on the interstate, car shaking violently out of control. Took it to a different shop and they told me there was NO WAY they were changed, they were clearly old. Called McKay’s back and the best they could offer was to maybe refund the parts. Told them there was no way I was driving back to Boston for garbage spark plugs and they refused to help me since. They did not touch my car while they had it, I even picked it up in the exact same parking spot that I left it in. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS. They will 100% steal your money if you are going in just for maintenance. I will be filing a charge back with my bank.
I've been using McKay since moving to Troy and have not been disappointed. They have good pricing and are able to figure out solutions when needed. Cassidy is great as well.
Cassidy got parts ordered and kept in contact with me Chris diagnosed oil leak on kids car when they were going to shop for appointment the balljoint fell out on my dodge dakota next door to shop I got truck towed to shop and chris worked on the balljoint outside of the shop off a stand anybody that's worked on 20 plus yr old trucks knows how difficult this is yet chris did it then he got in the shop and did other balljoint and repaired the leak in my kids car over a few days . We were referred to this garage and I completely recommend to anyone and everyone for honesty hardwork and doing all they can to help their customers out they get it

They robbed me by doing extra work to my car I didn t ask to be done and charged for it. Go elsewhere and watch out schemes.

Have used Chris for the past 20 years and again recently for service on my 2008 Mercedes Benz. Always fair, communicating feedback during longer repairs, and not trying to sell me on things I dont need or want. Recommend McCay without reservation.

Thank you McKay Auto!! I brought my car in when my check engine light came on, after being quoted $1000 to fix it at a big box auto shop around the corner. McKay s got me fixed up on and the road for $200, and were very quick and helpful. I will definitely bring my business here in the future.
Took my car in for what I was told was needed all 4 brake pads replaced by a chain auto place. They told me I only needed the back brake pads replaced. Got me in and out in 2 hours for 1/4 of the price I was quoted. Thanks guys

Paid $1000 to get some work on the rear end of my vehicle. You know, shocks, struts , pads and rotars....had my car for a week. Not even 2 days after picking it up, I still hear and feel the same sounds I heard to begin with on tipoff a lead from the rear. Call em up, they say bring it in, theyll adjust it and the leak is natural and will stop once new parts get broken in .... 2 months later they pass me for an inspection.. fast forward several months now, as the vehicle has been sitting in the driveway thanks to covid. Brought my vehicle to a shop for new tires and that mechanic brought to my attention that my rear end is in poor shape. Its still leaking, and he tells me the parts are shot. Now these parts last years and years and years before they need to be replaced. So not only did they take 1000 from me, but they never fixed the issue AND they passed me on an inspection 2 months later? No Bueno. I did some research and this isnt the first time theyve done this. So much so, that my associate tells me that theyve had multiple visits and fines from the DMV for shottt work. I will never bring my vehicle back to this shop NOR will I ever suggest someone to bring it there. I will be getting my lawyer involved to get my money back and yet again put another negative DMV note on their business. Stay tuned
I had my car towed here after it broke down. Not only where they fast (one day) the price seemed fair, they didn t try to up sell me other repairs and they where friendly.

Dont ever take your vehicle there. I came out with worse problems than when I drove in.
I left my car to fix it in June. McKay said it s ready to drive. Next day, starting noisy during driving and one week later, completely broke down on the freeway. I called towing truck and dropped my car nearest place. I spent 5000 dollars to repair my car in strange place. Need 3weeks to fix and replace my car for whole engine and radiator burning. After I came back home, I went to McKay to tell what happened. They told me all were my wrong. I had to bring my car right away but I told them I will go to travel and paid 500 dollars how come I can come back right away? And problem starting radiator, they did not have any responsibility because they did not even see it. If you plan to long drive, never ever go to this place. Don t ask for checkup your car. They don t know or don t care !!

This is the only auto shop I will go to in Troy. They are excellent, friendly, and efficient. I had a problem with a sensor on my car and tried fixing it myself, but did not solve the problem. I explained to them everything and they understood what I was able to do, but troubleshot and solved what really caused my problems. It was quickly fixed, and it was a pleasant surprise to find that they were able to do it under the estimated budget. This nice, family run business set the bar for all of my auto shop experiences. Great auto body shop . The always handle my wife and I cars with care and professionalism. On top of that I would say that they prices are not that bad. I would recommend this shop to any one. Although they can only do certain things with my car because its foreign, but what they can do does help alot.
These guys are crooks. I left my car there to be worked on, and when I came to pick it up, found they had left it unlocked! My bike, which I had left in the trunk, was gone. When I asked them about it, they pretended like they had never seen the bike before, even though I had told them that I was going to leave my bike in the trunk. Why would you ever leave a customers car unlocked?? For all I know, one of the workers at Mckays was the person who stole it!

I was referred to McKay by a good friend who I trust to know about these things. Theyve done work for me a couple of times and shocked me by how fair the price. The timing was also a big change from what I was accustomed to - they were prompt. Its surprising how they manage in such a tight spot but they do.
