Great hardware store. They have just about everything you might be looking for in a hardware store. Plumbing and electrical is on the second floor.

Helpful, friendly staff...certainly more than can be said about most big-box home improvement stores. I also found their prices to be reasonable.
Cute store. But the service is slow. The last straw is trying to find parking. Called ahead and store employees told me to park in the lot behind the store. It took 10 minutes and 2 around the block drives to realize it is nowhere to be found. Turns out parking lot is down the street with a Bank of America sign.
Poor service, no attempt to help me find what I was looking for. I was informed that they have the smallest quantity of inventory out of all locations so whatever they had was all that they had. I get wanting to end your shift and close the store but someone could have at least checked if what I was looking for was located somewhere within the store, or maybe at another location.
A Hardware Store on Steroids! Our first visit to Hatchet Hardware of Troy was for some plumbing parts. When we first walked in, my thoughts were, 'they're not going to have plumbing parts...' I was totally wrong. This hardware store has it all – everything you expect in a local hardware store and then some. The entry to the store is filled with unique items for your home, trinkets, and gifts. It's a visual delight. Then you get into the heart of the store and there you'll find housewares and small appliances, landscape supplies, light bulbs...the list goes on. They even offer refills of cleaning supplies for environmentally conscious shoppers. Don't forget about upstairs which houses the plumbing supplies amongst other things. What's even better is the staff is friendly and helpful. If you haven't been yet, check it out! UPDATE: Kudos to businesses who respond to reviews!
This store is awesome. The people are super friendly and it has a surprisingly wide selection of tools and it's such a convenience having a hardware store in downtown Troy.
I pretty sure they have 1 of everything you ll need, especially on a Sunday afternoon.
Everything is locked up, and staff is slow or seems inconvenienced. Go to Lowes/Home Depot, any where else. Such a slide since Pfeil.
If you need something they either have or can get it, for pickup.or delivery. N9 job to small or large.
A great place for hardware and other household needs. There are some cute housewares that would work well as gifts as well as refreshing drinks at the checkout counter.
Hours state Open @ 8AM. Call the store at 8:05 and was told that employee is stuck in traffic will be here around 8:30. It s now 9AM and store still not open and employee inside hung up the phone because I asked if stuck in traffic employee was coming from NYC. Employee inside store then comes out and claims I cursed on the phone, which I did not. Have seen at least 15 people come and go. Maybe find better, more responsible employees to open up your store on time.
Absolutely amazing customer service. Within seconds of walking through the door I was helped and told exactly where to go. I had been to THREE other stores prior looking for the same item but every place was so unorganized no one could find it! I went here and they found it within minutes! The plumbing section was so well organized it was unbelievable. Everything had a place and yet again there was always someone available to help! I LOVE ace hardware.
This company does a poor job keeping an accurate inventory on its website. Twice Ive driven there for an item that was supposedly in stock, but then after getting there I found out that those items were not. Big waste of time and gas.
This hardware store has everything. Everyone working inside the store was very friendly and very helpful. They also help support other local businesses. Stop by and pick out a unique Christmas gift for family and friends.

Great place to find things stocked and services are great.
This is a really cool store and they have a lot of fun items that you won t find at a typical hardware store. However, they updated (read: increased) their prices on many items but they have failed to increase the prices displayed on the shelves. This has been an ongoing issue for at least six weeks, probably longer, and it s very frustrating to pick an item up off the shelf knowing that the price displayed is probably not the actual price. Today I grabbed two items on two separate trips, both were incorrectly priced. For the first item the woman behind the counter charged me the higher price that they have in the system and said she would go upstairs and update the price. Really? Really??? If you are going to increase the prices of your items in your system, do the same thing on your shelves. Yes it requires a bit more effort, but it s one of the most fundamental rules of retail: the price you see should be the price you pay. Do better.

Not just your regular hardware store- found essential oils for my Reiki practice:) Who knew:) My sales associate, Brandon, gave me space to explore the store, but was close enough when I had a few questions. I have been shopping at this Ace store for a few months now. I drive all the way from Albany to purchase items and plants. I took my Mom there to purchase items yesterday and she said a staff member was rude to her and said he was losing his patience with her. This is his job not my 70 year old Mom. If he couldnt assist he shouldve asked his Mananger. Bad customer service. She didnt want to purchase any items after seeing all the nice Christmas items. Home Depot got my Moms hardworking money today.
Employees have a terrible attitude
Visited this hardware store for the first time and was really impressed. Needed plumbing supplies and staff was super friendly, knowledgeable. Good selection as well. Will be using this store regularly in future as well since it is nearby and had decent amount of parking near store for weekday early afternoon.

This is a great hardwire store as well as a fun homegoods store. Customer service is great, too. However, DO NOT BUY CAR KEYS here that you have to special order. It takes about three weeks for the keys to arrive (way too long!), and then you have to come in and have your key programmed. My key was not programmed correctly the first time, so I had to come back again to get it done.

The store is a hidden treasure in downtown. I think a lot of people do not realize it is much more than a hardware store. A great place for out of town visitors to pick up little gifts for people back home.

This is the hardware store you dream of. Huge, and with a good selection of what you might typically expect at a hardware store, plus decorative and novelty stuff that make it an interesting place to stop in even if you do not need a plumbing fitting or can of paint.

Huge selection and helpful staff
Very unfortunate to have to give a poor review but Ive been a loyal customer of the hardware store that you and your husband now run under the Ace Hardware label. Ive been coming to this location with my 3 little girls for 8 years. On a recent visit they asked me about the crass merchandise in the window that uses swear words and phrases that are sexual in nature. Can you help me explain to my 11 and 14 year old girls how this is relevant in the time of #MeToo? I am probably one of the biggest local supporters in Troy....but Im having a hard time with the window displays and that so much of this merchandise is at adult waist level or lower. I understand that many people have gone into your store to complain about the placement of some of your questionable merchandise, myself included, but your response has been its 2017, get over it. Im not so sure Im convinced that you are community minded. As a store owner, you definitely have the right to purchase and display whatever merchandise you want. As a community, we would respectfully ask that you place this merchandise in a location not in plain site of children and definitely not in your window displays.
Parking is usually ok, but it is on-street. They have a good selection and a very knowledgeable staff. Definitely punches over its weight as a downtown hardware store

This place has the best customer service of anywhere Ive ever been. Theyre always completely helpful, fast, and knowledgeable. Ive also always been very, very happy with their prices. When you count in the convenience of the downtown location, I cant see a reason to go anywhere else.
