Got my car towed on a Friday night (colonie police called them, went into a ditch, no damage, car just wouldn t start) at 6pm and was concerned I wouldn t be able to get my car since their business hours said M-F. Driver told me I would be able to get it Saturday. Long story short, didn t get it until Monday after me and colonie PD calling ALL WEEKEND. Had to find rides to work, etc. Then when Monday finally came, they charged me for storage. Why would you charge someone storage fee if you wouldn t allow them to get their vehicle? Anyways, they refunded me the storage fee and informed my mom that they have an audio recording of me saying I couldn t afford the tow fee at the site of the accident. Then when I went there to request the audio recording, Brenda told me she never told my mother they had a recording. Wouldn t really give me a clear answer. She kinda seems like a pathological liar type. Anyways, wouldn t recommend them to my worst enemy.

After a day from hell with our cars warranty company, two incorrect tow trucks, Brenda and Rick really came to our rescue. Thank goodness someone referred them to us (though I m sorry I don t realize who as I called 15+ companies). They were at our home within the hour with our vehicle prepped to be towed in 3 minutes. To say they made our horrific day a god send is an understatement. If you aren t able to put your car in gear, they have to tools to quickly and efficiently get you on your way without ruining your vehicle. Beyond thankful and will use them in the future every single time it s needed.

Damaged my coupe. Forced me to pay extra threatened to take my fully owned car to impound. The guy put my car on dolly, baited me into conversation, then 2 minutes down the road tells me it s going to cost more. No excuse as to why or how much. I Called my insurance they said the tow company wants to charge more because they couldn t get my car into neutral. Yet..My car is a 6speed manual. They tried to take my fully owned car to their impound lot even though my insurance paid them. The tow truck driver tried to drive away with my car attached after we got to drop off location. I had to jump in-front of his truck to stop my car from being under my impression stolen again as my insurance already paid them and I paid my roadside assistance deductible. They lied to my insurance saying car would not go into neutral. Mind..tow truck driver arrived with dolly and wheels that roll regardless my cars drivetrain. The undercarriage of my vehicle is damaged. They made me pay and additional $165 tow guy assuming pocketed my $50 cash and would not release my car. I recommend Perlman s has used them for years.

I called them when my car broke down and the towing service was professional and straight forward. The employees that work there seem to be nice but their repair fees are extremely high. They overcharge a lot. I recommend their towing service but not their repair shop. They estimated $1000 to repair engine and transmission mounts, and I got the same job done by another mechanic for $175.

I had the misfortune of encountering Essential Towing Company recently and I must say, they are hands down the worst company I have ever dealt with. Not only is their towing service terrible, but their entire business seems to be based on racism and exploiting unsuspecting customers. They have a penchant for towing cars parked legally and seem to take great pleasure in seeing innocent people struggle financially. I wouldnt be surprised if they have some kind of twisted incentive scheme to make their employees tow as many cars as possible, regardless of whether or not they are parked legally. To make matters worse, Essential Towing Company only accepts cash payments. This is incredibly sketchy and makes me wonder what kind of shady business practices theyre involved in. It also makes it nearly impossible to dispute any charges, which is obviously their intention. And dont even get me started on their so-called customer service. Amanda, who I had the displeasure of dealing with, has the worst customer service skills Ive ever seen. She was rude, unhelpful, and seemed to take joy in making my already terrible experience even worse. Overall, I would strongly advise anyone considering using Essential Towing Company to re-evaluate their decision. This company is nothing but trouble and I wouldnt wish their terrible service on my worst enemy. Stay far away from them and save yourself the headache.

Amanda, Rick and Brenda had disgusting attitudes, they were very short in answering any questions and was incapable of being professional at the work place. It s ironic that I have not seen this type of action toward white people theyve encountered. I m afraid to say that Essentials towing are targeting black college students, but this seems to be the case. When workers claim to like seeing black college students suffer, before looking and towing the same car on the same day it makes it hard to not believe it s true. Is this really the type of company you want to work with???

And when it comes times for street cleaning they make fast work of entitled college students that cant read the no parking signs. We recently called Essential towing. The operator and crew came and assisted my family and I, when our pickup had an issue and had to be towed. Not only did they tow the truck, we had our camper on the back and the company stored our camper for afew days while our truck was being fixed at a local shop. Also thank you Brenda for bringing us to the shop and letting us hang out there while our rental car was being processed and brought over. The driver and crew were very professional, respectful and prompt to our call and needs. We will be using this company and when ever there is an issue. Please dont hesitate to call if you need help.

These guys are amazing my transmission blew in my car coming down the Northway during a very busy time.. I was able to get out of the traffic lanes but was partially in an exit lane before an exit ramp I have AAA but they said they were backed up and it would be 1 1/2 to 2 hours before they could get to me.. I called Essentials Towing and they were there in a matter of minutes . They towed my car to the dealership and waited to be sure I had a loaner car . They were fast, courteous and instantly put me at ease removing that car off the busy Northway . Thank you to Ricky for doing an outstanding job! Would highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again.

This company has been the worst towing company I have ever experienced. They are sketchy and do not care if the troubles they are putting people through. They have the highest daily rate I have even experienced. as well as are searching for reasons to tow cars even when they aren t the private towing company they are using. Based in troy but stay in the college area looking to inconvenience any college students as well as their main worker is very prejudice. Far from understanding and are not looking to help anyone only make money. I don t recommend using them at all.

Wow Unbelievable how he was able to get tow truck up a very narrow driveway and then pull my truck from around a tight corner up top of my driveway. It was uneven pavement and literary about 6 inch clear on either side and was able to get it without issue. Impressive

Worse experience ever! They overcharge for a tow doubling the bill how is that even legal or even fair as people who suppose to be servicing a community. They need to be reported.

Had some issues and used my roadside assistance for a tow. They assigned me with Essentials aka Coffmans towing. The number they provided to contact them just rang to voicemail. After waiting 90 minutes past the time they said they would arrive, I cancelled through my roadside assistance. No way to contact them yet they accepted a tow. Horrible service. If your roadside assistance assigns you this company, immediately get a new one or you will be on the side of the road for hours.

Had a need for a tow today. Amanda was very personable on phone. Driver was visibly very experienced, as vehicle was stuck in garage and had to be dollied out.( Few inches to spare on either side). In summary, an always unfortunate experience when vehicle is malfunctioning, however, The Team at Essentials made extremely, pleasurable.

This morning flew off the highway because of the snow and was left on the side of the road on I90. Im an 18 y/o girl and had no idea what to do and was crying. I am so very grateful to Essentials Towing and Dom and Stephanie for coming out on a cold Sunday night to extricate my very dead car from an awkwardly situated garage off a dead end alley. I called them through my roadside assistance program. They not only had all the necessary equipment on hand, they showed up early, they helped me move boxes out of the way so they could put the front of the car on a dolly. They were kind, knowledgeable and efficient. They even dropped the car at the dealership for me and deposited the key in an envelope in the night box so I could stay in my warm house. May I add they were the third service I had called to get my car towed out of the garage; the first two didnt work out for various reasons. 5 Stars.

These guys are great! I called in and spoke with Amanda, who was very pleasant and well spoken. She had a flatbed truck to my location in 45 mins flat- I couldn t believe it! The driver (Levi) was obviously well experienced, quick and thorough: he had my large truck on the flatbed and secured properly in a matter of a couple of minutes. I wouldn t hesitate to call them for a tow; in fact: I m bringing one of our vehicles in next week to have some work done. It s not often you find quick and friendly service around here. Bravo!

PRICE GOUGING .TERRIBLE SERVICE SCAM ARTISTS . Private tow company in the year 2024 that only accepts cash payment is Inconvenient to say the least. The woman working behind the desk talked badly about customers while I was unknowingly listening close by. A 2023 sedan I own was towed 9.1 miles and the price came out to be $446.09. A fee of $50 was added to the bill for special equipment. If you need special equipment for a sedan then rethink your line of work. Almost $450 is absurd pricing and most certainly a scam. Avoid this business at all costs. You most definitely will be overcharged and disrespected after leaving.

Called because my car unexpectedly stopped working, and Brenda was on the other line. Their mechanic unfortunately recently had surgery, but she went above and beyond to call reputable mechanics nearby to help me. I literally don t know anything about cars and she made me feel so much better. Levi, the kind man who towed my car, was also very nice and was very helpful. Thank you guys so much!

I ve had to use Essentials twice now for a towing and part change and have been very pleased both times! The workers are all very nice and quick to get my car back to me I will definitely continue to use them in the future!

Staff was top notch and very attentive. Brenda handled my appointment with ease and Dominic transported my vehicle (ford e350) with the same ease and professionalism.

Fast, cheap, efficient and informative. I can honestly say the whole team had a hand in helping me. Brenda called me to confirm the address (that wasnt correctly provided by Progressive). Brenda was so cool and professional. I felt terrible that my insurance had given the wrong address, but she was very reassuring. It was refreshing to actually have great customer service during a vulnerable time in my day (flat on the highway (no donut )). After she had assured me that someone would arrive momentarily, Dom showed up within 5mins. This gentlemen was VERY knowledgeable and also super chill. Was able to chop it up with him. And this guy was diligent in his job! Pictures and documents EVERYTHING! Told me a terrible story about a lady trying to scam the company, but it wasnt my man Doms first rodeo. He documented took pictures and was able to prove that damages happened prior. Not to go off on a tangent, but everything about this company points to green. Speaking of green, saved me green $$ - Under $200!! Ive had tows In the $300s.. To top it all off and when a company couldnt possibly give a customer a better experience than this, I received a follow up from Amanda to ensure the service was nothing short of perfect, and thats what this was, PERFECT. Thank you Amanda and to the Essential Towing TEAM! P.s. all of this was mid instacart delivering wine. The skinny of it- because of Essential Towings efforts, the bottle of wine was delivered ON TIME! They didnt know this..but they had a very positive domino effect yesterday and helped out more people than they know. Thank you

We had a company van stranded on 787 due to damaged rims and tires. (Random large chunks of rock were scattered about the entrance lane wreaking havoc.) Thankfully a H.E.L.P. truck showed up in minutes & called Essentials Towing for us. They showed up quickly to tow our van and worked with me on what repairs would be needed. I have nothing but good things to say about the entire team I interacted with. Brenda, Rick, and Amanda were patient, helpful, and responsive throughout the entire process. I couldnt get to the shop to take pictures for our insurance claim, so they took good pictures and sent them to me, which saved so much hassle. All the phone calls, emails, questions, and of course the dreaded waiting while dealing with insurance (all while the shop itself was very busy) - They took in stride. Once the insurance portion was taken care of they ordered the replacement rims & tires for us and had them put on in no time. I am grateful to have had such a pleasant experience given roadside incidents are usually nothing but stress from start to finish. Many thanks again to the Essentials Team for getting us back on the road!

Essential Towing towed my car in conjunction with my Road Side Service. On time professional, and courteous. Made a lousy situation much easier.

Spoke with Amanda and I was concerned about my truck being towed. She answered all of my questions even more thoroughly than I had ever expected. All other towing companies are so short with the customers and I dont want to ask them any questions as they sound like they just lost their dog. Not this company and Amanda she was happy and if you want a reliable company that will give you all the information you ever wanted deal with a family owned business that is taken very serious then call them asap. Dont waste your time calling around. Make 1 call because the prices are the best part....and Amanda.

This is Nick had to mention it so they know I left my comment this time but awesome company had my alternator go they gave me a tow and storage while they fixed the car as well as worked with my due to only being payed on disability would recommend to anyone sweet girls awesome guys thank you guys again

I have dealt with this tow company multiple times where I work. Every single time there is a problem with Essentials over charging and bills not making sense for the charges shown. They recently double taxed everything and give a hard time when the issues with the bill are brought up to them. I do not recommend having your car towed by this tow company. EVER.

Absolutely amazing service! Amanda was very nice on the phone and worked with me to find out where I was. Truck got there fast and gave me a ride with my car. Driver was also incredibly nice and professional. Best tow company Ive ever had to use!

The women that work here (including the manager) have the most DISGUSTING attitudes I have ever dealt with. They were quick tempered, snarky, and unhelpful. After having a short conversation over the phone with one of the employees, I thought it was just a one day thing, perhaps she had a bad day. However, the next day when I arrived to pick up my car their attitude was at an all time high with one of the workers admitting that she got a kick out of making me feel small. As a college student I am still navigating the world on my own and to be ridiculed and belittled by the employees of this establishment for a mistake that s already a huge financial burden, is unfathomable. There are terrible people in this world and they work at essential towing and recovery. I do not recommend doing business with them, tread with caution.

So today another vehicle broke down3/7 and needed a tow . I Spoke to AManda whom did a great job of setting me up with another tow. SHe sent out the same great tow operator from our last tow another good job done by a good company with good people working for it I cant say enough about company I called them last Thursday 2/9late afternoon and needed a car towed within a few hours before the mechanic shop closed.I needed to get my kids car to an actual human answered the phone told me how much it would be and when the tow truck would be at the car to pick it up . And true to their word they did everything they said they would .great company great people running it awesome experience

I needed my car towed to Toyota in Latham . Most likely a starter or alternator problem. I went through my travelers insurance company to get the towing and they sent a truck from essentials in Troy. They arrived within a half hour of the call and kept me informed and the driver and person towing my car was very nice and I felt that. my car was in good hands with him. Thank you so much , Levi. Essentials Towing crew is wonderful. Had two other companies come out, which neither one would or could perform the service. Essentials came out and took care of us without any hesitation and they had all the proper equipment! Very knowledgeable and very professional! Thank you all so much from the dispatcher to the driver! I will definitely call this company and would recommend to anyone!

They DO NOT offer 24 hour towing services. This business is a scam. --> They charged me for unnecessary services like clean up parts, this was a $100 charge(????). --> I went to their business on Friday night to retrieve my car but no one was there. I proceeded to call them but no response. On Saturday morning I called again and I was told that they do not operate on the weekends. This led to three extra days being charged for storage. --> They told me to come on Monday before nine and my towing company was there on time to retrieve the car, however, they still charged me for a full day on Monday. They charged me $900 for THREE Days. DO NOT use this storage company if you want your car towed after an accident, they do nothing but add to the stress you are already experiencing. Extremely disappointed.

They overcharge you. They have you leave your vehicle and bring it to you later and dont show you mileage that they towed it. It is a scam. They dont carry cash. So you will not get money owed you if you dont have the correct amount. They keep it. Be aware

Extremely professional and friendly service!! The associate who towed my car was very gentle with my vehicle, very timely, and had very helpful answers to all my questions :) rates were VERY cheap compared to previous experiences with car tows. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would!! I will DEFINITELY be using this service for any future car trouble!

They came and the driver was very courteous. Towing took place with no problems. However, I was told I would receive a receipt via email. No receipt has been sent. I called 3 times and was told owner would send it, As of today still no receipt, I cannot get reimbursed for expense with out it. Not happy.

The tow driver Rick was absolutely exceptional. He was very personable, explaining everything he was doing to ensure the safety of my truck & plow. It was a tedious job but he made it seem effortless. The girls at the shop, Brenda & Amanda were also amazing & did everything they could to expedite & speed up getting this tow job thru quickly so I could attend to my 85 yr old, handicapped/disabled moms needs promptly. These guys get an A plus for customer service from start to finish. Not only were they friendly but after being towed to the shop Rick immediately took a look at my car to see what was going on and throughly explained the problem. If my car wasnt still under dealer warranty he would 100% be the one I would want working on it. So helpful and reassuring after what started out as a rough day. Thank you again.
