Marc was very kind and always picked up the phone when I called with questions.
I can never thank this kind man enough for looking after my family and I when our car broke down in the middle of the night on our way back to Canada. So happy to have crossed paths with Marc and all of his extremely kind friends!

Just recently on a cold winter day, I took my family in our minivan on a day trip to Fish Creek Campground near Tupper Lake. The plan was to get lunch in Tupper Lake and then take a walk in the woods in Fish Creek. At Fish Creek, I foolishly drove the minivan up a small icy hill to park at the top rather than leave the car at the bottom and walk up. We made it up the hill just fine, so I didn't realize we were now stuck. After a fun walk in the woods we got back to the minivan to find I couldn't get it out of an icy rut the front tires made. With three little kids and my wife the only ones with me, pushing a large minivan around wasn't working in spite of my best effort. Thank goodness I had cell service. I called the first tow service I saw on Google in Tupper Lake but got no answer. I saw the next one listed was Counter's but it said CLOSED. I called anyway and Marc picked up right away. He came out on a lonely, cold, windy Saturday night at dusk with (I assume) his personal vehicle, a gorgeous pickup with some tow straps, and got us pulled out and back down to the main road in 10 minutes. I fully expected him to charge twice or three times what he asked for, and I would have gladly paid it without hesitation considering my situation. Instead, he charged me a surprisingly low fee for the tow and gave me his business card. Of course I insisted on a decent gratuity which seemed to surprise him. I don't know why, because we were just so thankful I wish I had more cash on me to give him as thanks. On our drive home back to the Albany area we prayed as a family to thank God that Marc was available to help us that night. Otherwise things could have been very bad. If you need a tow service in that area, call Marc first. If you're in that area and need your vehicle repaired, call Marc first.
We were stranded in Tupper Lake Municipal Park about 70 miles from home on one of the hottest days of summer. The AAA guy gave up on us quickly, but Marc came to the rescue and kindly stuck with us until we were on our way. Much appreciated!

My Husband, our 2 young children and I traveled to the Wild Center from a couple hours away. Just as we were pulling in our car started shaking and the check engine light came on. I called around but nobody was able to get to it that day, leaving us stranded. I called Counters a second time accidentally and he took pity on me and came to look at it. He was able to get it fixed within the hour and saved our vacation! I can’t even express how grateful we are for this compassionate man!
Some garages are all about making money and when it comes to Counters that is not the case. Everything was very fairly priced. The owner Marc was professional, genuine, and honest. These are the qualities every owner should have and Marc has it and then some. I highly recommend Counters Garage to everyone who needs some work done or finds themselves in a pinch.

On the way to Lake Placid, our alternator died about 20 miles outside of Tupper Lake, and we found ourselves stranded on the side of the road with our pup. We got lucky when I called Mr. Counter, who came and got us, towed our car into his son Joels Garage, and helped us navigate logistics. He even ordered the part and scheduled the service before he picked us up. We had to stay the night in Tupper Lake, but Mr. Counter gave us a ride and made sure we had all of our stuff and were checked in to the motel. Joel replaced the alternator and had us on the road again the next morning. The Counters helped us turn what could have been a pretty bad situation into a manageable one. Thanks guys.

Nice place to get work done to your car. Knowledgeable group of guys. Father and sons team works well together. Reasonable prices. I usually go there every time.
I had driven pretty far from home, to Tupper Lake, in an old car when the transmission became very noisy. I was not sure the car would make it home so I called Counters towing to ask about having the car returned home on a truck. We settled on a plan that had me driving the car while they agreed to come and rescue me should it become necessary. Knowing someone would come to my aid, if needed, gave me the peace of mind to head home in the old clunker. As luck would have, the transmission held together, the car is home, and will soon be repaired. Mark, at Counters towing, was friendly and helpful. He has my thanks.
