I just had four very large fixed picture windows replaced. It took a while to select the glass type (since I am an engineer) but they eventually got all the spec data I requested and we settled on the glass type. It would be useful if they supplied all their estimators with laser measurement devices to determine exactly what the existing glazing is. We eventually figured it out. The installation was very efficient and carefully done.
Your source for custom glass cuts in Watervliet. Just bring cash as no credit cards.
Knocked over a cabinet and had to replace the glass door..went to the local hardware store but due to this size I was directed to advance glass. They were able to cut to size what i needed. Excellent service in a timely manner. Reasonably priced.
As a contractor I have used this company off and on for over 20 years, and have pretty much always found their customer service to be lacking, though the finished product generally acceptable. In need of a couple dozen screen panels for a project I wanted to complete, I first went to one of my more professional vendors to try to fill the order. They could have done the project, but would take six weeks to do so. Homeowner was in a hurry, so I tried Advance who came in more than $500 higher, but said they could do the job in two weeks, so gave them the go ahead. After several phone calls with excuses about an injured worker, and running out of supplies, ten weeks passed and our screens were finally done. Told manager they had put me in a difficult place with my customer, who was now getting their job done four weeks later for $500 more. Manager basically said that was my problem, that it was a big order... no discount, not even an apology... more seemed insulted that I would call her out on the poor service. They’re in a convenient location for me and my customers, so I’ve put up with their unprofessionalism in the past, but from now on I guess I’ll just go elsewhere, and point people in another direction. If you have a small job, are willing to wait, be overcharged, and pay cash/check, their work is decent enough; but if you’re looking for a professional vendor who can handle larger jobs in a timely and professional manner, I’d stay away from Advance.
I am so very happy I asked my grandmother where she got the glass topper for her buffet! When I splurged on a new bedroom set, I knew I wanted glass toppers to protect them. With custom curves, I knew I couldn't have just anyone do the job. I am insanely impressed with the custom glass toppers they made for me! Like anyone would have been, I was a little upset when they sent me back with my initial outlines to redo them the way they recommended, but boy am I glad they did! These could not have been cut anymore beautifully! Definitely worth the money! May just go buy a glass topper for everything now 😂
As a owner of a house with apartments, Advanced has been a mainstay as a go to source any time a window needs replacing. Glass breaks, and when it does, I use Advanced Glass for all my replacements. There is 1 big problem I have, and I considered rating them lower because of it. When I am in need of glass, I cannot call in my order. I have to stop work and get cleaned up to drive to the business to place a order. As I write this, I have paused and debated taking a star away. I considered their reasoning for it, which is the same I hear from other businesses, that they have to many not show up for a order that was placed and not payed for. Ok my advice is, get a credit card machine to eliminate that aspect or problem. Weighing all the various factors, I still like small local shops and I have to flow with the changes I am effected by. They also always do the order with accuracy and expediency. So, yes I am slightly effected by the way they do business, but not nearly enough for any changes to stars or even to take my patronage anywhere else. I recommend this place for any of your glass needs.
I brought two antique frames here. One to have a piece of glass cut and a backing out in and the other to have an oval mirror cut and put in. I picked them up and upon examination at home noticed many issues. First, on the frame with backing, the backing which cost $8 was just a piece of cut cardboard. I can cut a piece of cardboard. It doesn't cost $8. I thought I was going to get a proper frame back like you get in the store when you purchase a new frame. The oval mirror was an antique frame I repainted. The mirror glass did not sit properly against the front of the frame so there was a gap between the mirror caused by glue and the frame. So you actually saw part of the inside of the mirror frame reflected in the mirror. And they damaged the frame chipping off the paint. When I went back in the next day and spoke to the owner, instead of apologizing I got excuse after excuse and was told since I originally painted the frame, I have paint and can just touch it up...um? Excuse me? No. I had to be extremely firm with the owner and told her that first, that's not a proper response to damaging someone's property. And that this was just a bad job and no one would want to see the reflection of the back of the mirror in the mirror. Instead of glueing it in, I should have been asked if in fact they couldn't do it any other way. So she refused to have it redone. Told me I could leave it there and she will have the mirror removed and give me back the money for it, and called me rude for standing my ground. And as far as the cardboard back instead of the proper backing? No apologies, just continued to tell me how rude I was for demanding I get proper customer service! I mean the nerve of me! She refunded the money. I doubt others have spoken up and just suck up the cost. At the end of the day I'll say this. If you want poor customer service, bad work and your personal property damaged go here. If not go somewhere else.
After looking around for a shop to do a custom work as I wanted to replace my wood cabinet doors with frameless glass doors, I stumbled upon Advance Glass on my way back from work. The staff is courteous and go the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied. They really look at the finish job as if it were their own and did not prioritize saving a few bucks over my total satisfaction. I would recommend this shop to anyone and will gladly return for any future glaas work.
