Drive like maniacs in company van.

Had cleaning service done a day after the air flow stopped working in the house. I called them they sent out a tech. Instead of fixing the problem they tried to charge me a service fee thn told me they would have to come back out and I would have to pay for the labor and whatever else. I spoke to the manager who called me a liar. Don t waste your money with them. They are nickel and dining people.

Every year since I got my Central Air from Home Depot I ve had problem. I bought it April of 2017. My first 2 years were great when Sean O Hearn serviced it, he checked in the attic checked for leakage etc. great worker. In 2020 it wasn t serviced because of Covid. So 2021 to 2024 problems started to occur, all annual maintenance was a joke. 3 years of poor service and I ve had it with them. I live in KINGSTON and after Sean no longer worked in my area the men that came over did nothing for me. They hosed water over my unit after I told them I m not getting cool air. They said it was normal, but I had to stop them from leaving because only hot air came out then they said it was the compressor..of course they had to order it. Every year they have to come twice or three times. I asked for an annual service every year so I can avoid problems in the summer but every summer I have to call them back. I found them lazy and in a rush and I gotta pay for this. I had them over in April and asked them to check everything and they said to me I didn t need that. Not only did they charge me they added my 10% senior discount instead of subtracting. Again on 6/20/24 it stopped working again and they excepted me to wait until 7/5/24 in a heat wave. If that s all it takes I could do that myself. I asked them to check everything didn t listen. I told them they should have done what I asked for because I have Lupus and cancer and can t take the heat. I can understand making mistakes, but they never listened to me ever. I will be reporting them to the BBB. I had problems with them and will never use them again. They re based in Albany area and I think they don t care about Kingston customers. Unhappy

I had a 3 zone heat pump system installed by this company at a cost of $24,000. The lying salesman informed me that it would take 3 days.....it took several weeks to get it installed correctly having HD to return 14 times to get it right. One unit I suspect was refurbished because it fell apart weeks after the install and they had to order parts for it.....allegedly a new unit? A unit in my attic two months later began to spew condensation where it filled the pan, the unit never shut off and began to drip through my ceiling, but luckily I caught it quickly. They had failed to insulate about a two foot section of copper leading to the condensation. For the install they had removed large sections of insulation and never bother to place the insulation back. On top of the aforementioned, there were other issues (Want a WiFi controlled thermostat? Another $800...yes...hundreds). After a while they became a little condescending because they were tiring of my complaints. A 24k system and I had no right to keep badgering them. The install was finally correctly finished in late spring (they started in Jan), here I am a little over a year later, in a heatwave (90-95 degrees) and I had to shut down the main unit in the living room because of a pretty bad condensation problem. I have to wait 12 days for service. There are scores of Heating/AC companies in New York State, and this is the gang that couldnt shoot straight. Dont believe me? Go ahead and hire them and spend your hard earned dollars. You will regret it. Any positive reviews are probably paid reviews because this company plain and simply sucks. They are not worth the 1 star I had no choice but to select. Photos and texts coming

My central air conditioning decided to not work this season, so I called Holbrook for help. Kelly in customer service informed me of the charges that would be incurred, which I greatly appreciated knowing ahead of time. ArJay was the technician sent for this service call and I couldnt have been luckier to have him! It was so nice to have someone walk in, listen to my explanation of what was going on, and then proceed to actually troubleshoot and ultimately repair exactly what was broken. ArJay was professional and kind, and provided excellent customer service. I will definitely use Holbrook again for my HVAC needs. Note: Holbrook installed my new Lennox furnace and ductwork back in 2020 - dont know what happened to my 5-star review from back then, but I think its important to note that the salesperson and installers (names escape me now...) did a fantastic job of working with me to run numbers to ensure that the furnace and the expansion of my ductwork would work together to provide better heating on my 2nd floor - mission accomplished! The installers made sure that the placement of the ductwork and the running of wires from the thermostat to the basement was done neatly and just the way I wanted it done - even though some of it was a real pain!

Now I see why they ONLY have 3 Stars NOT trustworthy at all. You have to watch every single move they make in order to assure a good service maintenance. They tried ripping us off from the time of our installation of new heating and cooling. They tried using parts from our old HVAC unit and took the NEW parts back out to their van. Then they took shortcuts when servicing our AC by dropping screws amongst the pea gravel stone surrounding the unit and just leaving the holes empty and causing RATTLING noise which once we figured out why, we had to have them return to finish the job. When we stood and watched him do this process the previous year, all was fine. This year, I made the mistake of showing him to the unit and then excusing myself to do laundry. Big MISTAKE. You MUST watch anything they do from the beginning to the end or have a very good camera system that will allow you to see everything. Shortcuts!!! Dont businesses realize, they NEVER pay off in the long run.

They installed a new furnace and AC system. Mike came to check on an issue and fixed it straight away. I can t say enough of how pleased I am with this business and their workers. I highly recommend them.

This company lacks any form of customer service and their work is not only disappointing but will be detrimental to your home. Holbrook gladly took our payment in full after we signed a contract for a heat pump and said that they would reach out to schedule the installation. After over 2 months with no communication, they finally let us know the original piece of equipment we were contracted for was unavailable and tried to upsell us on a new one. After finally coming to an agreement on what heat pump we were getting the installation then took 3 technicians 3 days to complete. They took off without explaining a single thing, left our basement a mess, and we found multiple screws/part pieces lying on the side of the unit. We turned the system on to test it out and left it running overnight. In the morning we went down to the basement and found all the pipes FROZEN solid and dripping on/in our furnace. This was because they installed the cooling coils facing the wrong way so all of the air backed up into the blower/heat pump cause everything, including the pump itself, to completely freeze causing damage to the system. We again had to call several times to get another technician to come out. He came and worked for another full day to fix the issues caused by the first installation team. Again, he left without explaining a single thing. We later realized that the drainage pipe blocks our ability to change the air filter in our furnace. Their work, and the customer service we received, have not only been disappointing but detrimental to our furnace and pipes. For a piece of equipment that is such a large investment, we are beyond disappointed, and frankly disgusted, at the service we received. We sincerely hope others will proceed with extreme caution when using this company and that Home Depot revokes their endorsement immediately.

I called in the morning and they were able to get us in the afternoon for assessment of our furnace. Trina was wonderful pleasant smiling and explained everything in great detail. Unfortunately we are still waiting on our insurance to approve the installation.

Scott found the refrigerant leak in the coil & a replacement coil will replace the original coil. Scott listens to my issues & has provided me with assurance that Holbrook will help . I like Scott. Positive

Had several techs come out over the course of a week for an AC issue and each one was terrific. They were professional and knowledgeable, but also friendly and patient. The office staff was very responsive and sympathetic to the issue we had. They were up front about pricing and scheduling, which I appreciated. When the issue was possibly related to a furnace installed by another company, they checked the warranty information and ordered parts seamlessly. I didn t have to do the legwork. Ultimately Justin saved the day and we ve enjoyed central AC on some very hot days.

Holbrook has always been my go to for service. Great service and professional repair technicians. The ladies in the office are always a pleasure to do business with.

Eric arrived an hour early I explained the problem with our AC. Eric went right to work. A problem with wiring being too close to the blades and had come in contact and split the wire. Eric replaced the wire and also another part and had the job done in about 45 minutes. Holbrook admitted it was their mistake and charged us nothing. Not too many companies will do that. They are the company to call for heating and AC.

Service tech Barney was friendly and took the time to explain to me necessary repairs. I also appreciate all of the communication to confirm appointments and let me know how far out he is from arriving at my home.

Holbrook comes to our house twice a year for preventive maintenance, AC/HEAT. And yet they have gone to the wrong address at least 3 times. I would have given 5 stars if it wasnt for that.

Sales men Jeremy came out and gave me an estimate that was excellently priced. the following day they sent their technician Tylor to install it. he went over everything on what to expect. They did very nice clean work. These guys are definitely professionals at what they do and do things right.

Very poor installation that will cause multiple error codes that they will not fix unless you pay them even more money. And then when you do, these fixes are more like bandaids because of their shoddy installations. Stay far far away.

Nothing but problems. Gave them a few last chances but today, when the tech called at 7:15 PM to see if I still wanted my 2:30 - 4:30 appt, that was the last freaking straw. It took them 4 tries to get our Mitsubishi unit in correctly; had to get an electrician in to fix where they screwed up the wiring; trust me, I could go on. Trust me, run away.

Zero stars is more appropriate. Had taken time from work for a weekday appointment and the morning of was called to say they needed to cancel due to illness. No harm no foul since I was able to go to work a little late. Rescheduled for Saturday early AM but no one showed up at the scheduled time. About an hour after I notice the Van in the driveway and wait for them to come in. Instead it turns around and leaves after about 5 minutes. About a half hour later the office calls and states the technician did not have the tools needed for the service and want to re-schedule again to a weekday. What joke. Take another day off from work in the hopes someone shows up, is prepared and competent. That seems like a stretch to me. The best part after all this I receive an email asking me to rate the service

Zero stars actually. When they installed our heat pump. They made a hole in our new floor. Not on purpose but was going to leave without acknowledging until my husband saw it.we had problems with the unit . A lennox. Then 2nd summer It wasnt keeping cool. They came and said they didnt have time to fix. Came back days later said it had a leak . A year later it happened again. Was going to charge us $400 to diagnose it. They said they have to make money

We contacted this business through Home Depot. They came into our home, walked through both apartments and basement, said they would email an estimate. We never received an estimate. We called this business and HD many times for our estimate, and they weren t even professional enough to contact us with a reason or anything! Huge waste of time and needless invasion of privacy.

Im very disappointed in the products I have purchased from Holbrook Heating and Air conditioning. We purchase a central air unit (over $5000) and a Rinnai wall heater (over $3000). The AC broke within the first year. It took weeks to get them to fix it (middle of summer). But the really bad service came when the new Rinnai Heater broke 3 months after the Holbrook warranty expired. The customer service person told me it would be $250 for a service call and $250 for parts despite the fact that the unit is still under warranty with Rinnai. Holbrook does not honor their work. $3200 is a lot for us to spend and it doesnt help when the company wants a ridiculous amount of money to fix their bad work. Do yourself a big favor: Find another company that will do a good job and honor their work. This one does not.

This company was amazing to deal with from start to finish and completely exceeded any expectations we had. From the phone call to get an estimate, getting a same day in home estimate, and installation service the next day, I am beyond words for how grateful I am for this company. Thank you to everyone involved in getting my Grandma s heating system back up and running! We will certainly remember you all for future business!

Mr Demers was very thorough and was able to intelligently explain to me what he did and also the readings that he made. I wasnt very pleased when I was setting up my appointment that I was asked for a credit card number. I have done business with Holbrook for many years and have always paid when the work was done. I never used a credit card to pay, and having someone insist on a credit card in order to make the appointment was an insult. I did tell her that I would be paying by check. I realize that some people dont pay their bills and cant be trusted but I am a long time customer of Holbrook and that should invoke trust. The lady that I talked with was very polite and I realize that she was just doing her job so my complaint was not with her and she did check with another party and I was able to get the service that I requested. We had a furnace, hot water tank, and an ac unit installed in one day. Jared Adam Tyler and James were our technicians. They were extremely professional and knowledgeable communicating their progress during the day. On completion and their departure we realized our gas fireplace wasnt going on. We called and within an hour Jeff arrived to relight the pilot light. We are extremely pleased with the service of this company! Would definitely recommend them for your needs.

Go somewhere else

I thought because Home Depot and Jim Boeheim endorsed them that Holbrook would be a good company. I was very wrong. Between leaving us without heat for 2 days (technician left but said heat was working), failing the city code enforcement (didn t seal exhaust which caused CO2 to build up in basement), technician connected condenser pump wrong (which caused water to drip on floor), not having all materials needed to complete job (it took 3 weeks to complete), one technician, Nathan, used 4 letter words like he was out with his buddies but worse of all not one time did anyone from management reach out to us (the service manager came out and competed the job with original technician and left without talking to us. I m assuming we are completed. On the positive side all the technicians were respectful. Even foul mouthed Ethan. Over all the worse home services company I have ever felt with.

I went to Home Deport looking to buy a replacement central AC unit on April of 2020. They had an area designated just for that so I called the number and within a week a sales rep. from Holbrook Heating showed up for an estimate. The pricing worked for me especially since the contract stated 5 yr parts warranty and 3 yr labor warranty; unfortunately, 1 day before a yr, the unit stopped blowing cold air. Even more, I actually moved out in January of 2020 but naturally I told the new home owners about the new major appliance and the warranty since the executed contracts had no non-transferable stipulation written on it. Once Holbrook was contacted on the non-operational central air conditioning unit they just installed under a year ago, they conveniently stated the warranty isnt transferable, even though that isnt stated anywhere in the contracts. In addition, they made me pay them directly to cut out HD which voided the HD Home Services warranty which would have covered it!!

We had Holbrooke install a new Central Air system under Home Depot in Sept 2020. The salesperson told us that the operating costs of electric vs propane system. We paid over $500/month for propane over the winter. And there is a 5 degree+ difference between upstairs and downstairs. We asked the to come fix it and they sent people on two separate occacsions to look at it, both told us the ducts were not installed well or sized properly. It then took 2 months of calling multiple times a week to get them to come fix it. The guy who finally came didnt have the right parts, didnt turn it on to check it when he was done and then they tried to bill me for materials used. The servicemen were nice enouh but I would not recommend using Holbrooke. It is difficult to reach anyone at the office who can make a decision, the Manager is always out and doesnt return calls. Some people who work there are quite rude. Once installed we clearly became a very low priority. We are now are looking at supplemental systems to provide adequate heating and cooling. What a waste of money, shame on me for not doing my homework. Buyer beware.

DONT HIRE THESE PEOPLE TO DO ANYTHING! A signed contract means nothing to them. A friend of mine paid for a high efficiency boiler, they haphazardly installed a mid efficiency boiler. New piping that was done wasnt professionally routed (pipes run in floor joists without any pipe supports) just ran throughout the cellar hanging in the way everywhere so you have to duck. Boiler vented out of a window well. The list of bad workmanship was a mile long. He called them repeatedly to fix. He took them to small claims court, they had their lawyer. Everything the customer presented was dismissed as hearsay, so if you want your side heard you need a Lawyer. Ive been in the heating/cooling business for 40 years. I was recovering from spinal fusion surgery and couldnt do the job at first. I ended up fixing their cobbled work after I healed. This my opinion.

We just finished an installation by Holbrook of a heat and air conditioning system in our newly purchased home. The installation was done by Kyle and Cody. They were both professional and courteous in all of their interactions with us. The work was done efficiently and completely. We are very happy and would recommend them highly.

Twice changed times and no show no call with no courtesy call, called to get explanations and they hang up on you. Called following day and again they hang up on then when they decide to talk either lisa or taylor they put u on hold because they are getting information from their so called specialists

We had our Central Air installed last Saturday. The whole process from the salesman Ed, to the installers went well. We thought we were good to go but after it was installed we had some technical difficulties with our unit freezing up. We wound up needing a bigger return duck put in but the manager Scott assured us it would be taken care of and not on our dime on theirs for missing it during the quote. The stayed true to their word and fixed everything on their dime and they were very quick. I would totally recommend them. Now our house is a cool 68 degrees. Thanks guys! A person is only as good as their word. And they were great!

We had our central air put in mid-June. The install crew that came in was prompt, courteous, and professional. They noted at the end of the install that we would have to get a little more done than what was written given the nature of how the old set up was. We understood completely. Due to this, our set up struggled to get the house below 73. I dropped our rating just because it was incredibly hard to get a hold of Scott, the branch manager after he was supposed to call us asap according to the install crew. He never did. When we finally did get ahold of him he promised to personally follow up with a plan, but the promised calls were not returned. We were patient but did get a bit frustrated of not hearing from him so we could get things finished up. It was several weeks of calling and emailing just to get things moving. Tanya and Kelly were incredible helping me out with getting our central air installation right and helping my husband and myself with financing. They were both very helpful with reaching out to techs/management when I struggled to keep things moving. Thank you both so much for listening and providing great service and support. We finally had our installation finished up today, and were very happy with the crew once again that came in. Honest, open, willing to answer any questions. They walked us through the work done before, during, and after. Crossing fingers we are set for good outside of maintenance! :)

Heres the deal, and I am easy, I was away and they came in as I askedbut did not leave an updated service date on the machine nor did they clean or replace my furnace air vent as part of the service charge when I call the lady was extremely nice but the only offer I got was to give me a $99 service a year from now, in my opinion the best thing would have been to have somebody come back and replace the filter.

Waited several weeks for a technician to show up and provide an estimate for a central air installation. Bottom line: This place gave us an estimate of over $21,000 for the job which I knew was excessive. In addition, they tried to sell us a unit way too big for our home which would not have functioned properly according to several opinions we obtained. We just got an incredible new air system installed beautifully, professionally and efficiently by a local company for under $10,000. THIS PLACE IS WAY, WAY OVERPRICED!!!!! STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!

We always have great service from Holbrook. A lot of the service people dont like going in our crawl space and verbally make it known via phone, but over all we like Holbrooks professionalism.

My technician Mike was outstanding. He took the time to diagnose my system and provided me with a very clear and honest assessment of what the issues were. I had to have him come back to do the work because he needed a specific part. Mike returned the next afternoon and completed the work in about an hour. Fantastic service and communication. Holbrook was subcontracted to install a 3 1/2 ton AC at a home we purchased courtesy of the previous owners whom paid for the install and product. The problem was within months the air conditioner was having issues not cooling and freezing up, the blamed it on the previous home owner not changing the filter. However, Holbrook had to come back a second time and make (an unknown repair) at no cost to the home owner, it was obviously not the filter, but they never admitted this. Fast forward to our purchase of the home and the air conditioner again had issues, not blowing out any cold air. So I called Holbrook, they told me there could be a leak, well they found out that someone (one of their employees didnt tighten the connection for the refrigerant thus 90% of the refrigerant leaked out!! Also they never checked any other sections of the line just connections.. not to thorough. So, i just assumed that this was going to be a no charge appointment. However I was charged $270, I told the repair man, no way, this was not my mistake and I should not be charged at all. Finally after dickering with an unsympathetic Manager I was able to get the bill cut in half, but that was the BEST he could do. I was so disappointed. Now, recently I had my Air conditioner checked by another, MORE RELIABLE and friendly service tech and they diagnosed the compressor bad/failing in need of replacement. SERIOUSLY Ac bad and its ONLY 4 years old!! So repair estimate (part covered) however with labor it is $1400 nearly half the cost of the original AC Unit. My service tech from the company I use said it is most likely due to issues with the install as well. So my wife called Holbrook and asked them to fix this issue and was greeted by a rude receptionist who basically said its not our fault and we also cant extend your warranty. As a matter of fact, every time that we have called Holbrook, we have been greeted by a rude receptionist. I feel they have the worst customer service, and I would stay FAR away from them. I am also considering reaching out to Home Depot to let them know to stay away from them as well!

I would not recommend this company to anyone. I bought a high efficiency on demand tankless heater from them five years ago. I was having trouble with my hot water, and a technician came over. He recommended that I have valves put in so I would be able to flush the system. I asked them why they werent put in when the unit was put in by them and he told me that the company that made the unit said it wasnt needed at the time. That was the first lie I caught them in as the manual recommends a flushing annually. When the valves came in two weeks later a technician by the name of Sean came to install them. After he left, the unit was leaking. I called them to have him return to fix it which he did, free of charge as he admitted that it was his fault. He also admitted that he was not familiar with the particular unit that I have, that he mostly works on another brand of units. That evening I hear clinging in my pipes thinking nothing of it as there was still hot water which was probably still laying in the pipes after the water was turned back on. The next day, I had no heat, I no hot water. I called them back and spoke to a very rude, unprofessional, and uncaring woman. I explained the situation to her and shes began quoting me prices. I told her that if it was determined that it was the technicians fault who put in the valves that I would not pay. She told me that the prices had to be paid. I told her the appropriate thing to do was to first make a determination if it was the technicians fault or not who installed the valves. She continued to just quote me prices, and I continue to tell her that it would be appropriate to determine whose fault it was first. She hung up on me. I called back several times and was told that they would call me back and they never did even though my grandchildren or in my house at the time that we had no heat in hot water while they were staying with us. I called a day later to speak to a manager I was told that he was dispatching his people and it wouldnt take long and he would call me back. He never called back, I called again and was told he wasnt around. I would not recommend this to anyone. You would have to be insane to hire Holbrook Heating
