⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We were driving from Connecticut to Lake George, NY when our transmission light suddenly came on. We pulled off the first available exit, and smoke was pouring out from under the hood—it was clear our transmission was overheating. In a bit of a panic, we searched Google and found Troy’s Garage just down the road. It felt like pure luck, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to end up. When we arrived, John came out to assess the situation, and right away, we knew we were in good hands. He quickly realized that we were in a tight spot, especially since we were traveling with our 3-year-old son. John didn’t hesitate—he immediately put the car on the lift to inspect it. His attention to detail was remarkable. He diagnosed that the transmission had been overfilled, causing the overheating, and performed a flush and refilled it to the correct level. Thanks to John’s expertise and care, we were able to safely turn around and switch to another vehicle for the rest of our trip. We’re so incredibly grateful for his help. Even though it took a few extra hours to reach our destination, John truly saved the day. If you ever find yourself in need of car repairs in the West Stockbridge area, Troy’s Garage is the place to go. We hope to never need their services again, but if we do, we know exactly where we’ll be going. Highly recommend!

Favorite mechanic in the area, we’ve taken our cars here continuously for the last three years. John is incredibly friendly and always explains things thoroughly. When other mechanics have told us we need incredibly expensive repairs, John finds ways to make it manageable.

Thank you ! We have had low air in one of our tires 2 times and realized we must have a slow leak (probably nail) and stopped into Troys. Although he was swamped and unable to look at the tire , he was kind enough to fill up our tire so we could journey on. Much appreciated!

We stopped by as Troy was trying to close up, but he very graciously took the time to check things out. Fortunately, we didn’t need immediate repairs, but we were very grateful to Troy for giving us peace of mind and an action plan. Highly recommend!

what a dude. After seeking advice from no fewer than 5 mechanics in at least two states for what seemed an ominous shuddering in the system, John and his team at Troy's Garage in West Stockbridge probably saved us $3000 (which was the estimate from our dealer). The problem we were having to date has not repeated after John took the time to diagnose and offer a solution that he thought might or might not stick >crosses fingers< but which has to date. We found our team.

On our way home from visiting family in MA, our front breaks went on our truck. We looked up local garages and found Troy's. The care and service we received was amazing! They were busy, but took the time to help us out.

My friend and I had a long road trip halfway across the country, when we ran into some troubles with less than two hours left before we arrived at our final destination. We weren't sure what to do and we weren't seeing any problems with the car and nothing was lighting up on my dash. To be safe we decided to stop and look around for a car shop to maybe give us some insight on what was going on. We found Troy's and even though they were about to close they let us come down and took a look at our car. Had some major problems with the tires that needed all four of them to be replaced, and all the folks at Troy's garage were super helpful and were able to find us a set of tires and install them for us despite the late hour. They really went above and beyond to help us so we didn't have to be stranded in a random town over night. We really appreciated their help and overall friendliness! They also had a very cute pet chicken that kept us company while we waited. It's a great, small family-owned car shop that knows what they're doing and is willing to help folks in need!
