I had an excellent experience at AAMCO White Plains when they replaced the transmission in my car. From start to finish, the process was smooth, fast, and hassle-free. Mark was incredibly helpful. He made sure I understood what was going on with my car and explained everything clearly. He was easy to get a hold of and returned calls promptly. Hes also a very friendly person which made the experience even more positive. If youre having transmission trouble, I highly recommend AAMCO White Plains. The worst aamco Transmission shop ever i took my 2012 ford e250 to fix the issue with my transmission and they couldn t even find the problem and they charged the 160$ dollars just bc they put an obd2 scanner in my truck and I went there to pay and I wanted to pay cash hes like we have no charge with attitude and said i need exact amount like what. Also he told me they been in business for 40 years maybe the company did but Mark maybe was new there and they hired him to scam people I would never in my life would recommend anyone to go there ever useless shop worst experience ever had

These guys (Mark and Jeff) are total scam artists. They wait until your car is in their shop and then quote a price. After a few hours they then come back with a different price. They do not take the time to do something properly. They complain about their parking problems and problems with not enough lifts. They are just not doing quality work. They work in a frenzied manner.

Its a great group of guys who treat you right. They diagnose your problem or problems and let you know what the deal is. They also try very hard to get your vehicle back to you by the time they say it will be done. Ive been going to them for years. In all reality I dont like going to them because that means something has gone wrong with my vehicle! But, they make the best of me coming to them by finding out whats wrong and then doing their best to get me back on the road. And thats why I keep coming back.

I had my car diagnosed and was told it needed a new transmission. Diagnostic and putting back parts took over 3 weeks and every time I called, M or consultant was busy. There were other customers. Wasnt I a paying customer? I was also told mechanics cannot be rushed. For close to a month? At 1,100++ diagnostic fee, I cannot be attended to? On top of that, I wasnt given a description of diagnostic, was promised one, and ended up arguing with M and owner because there was no description of service. If you are a woman like me and who knows if being not white counts, take my advice - get things in black and white. If Maaco or other similar establishments can do it and at a faster pacing, so should they.

AAMCO White Plains has some of the best reviews around, so when my transmission bit the dust, I took it to them. Jeff quoted me a price for a full rebuild, and I had my truck back within a week. The evaluations for any transmission issues are free. They also do transmission oil changes, believe it or not! These owners and workers are professional and direct. They tell you exactly whats going on and a price for parts and labor and then you get to make a decision. A consumer cant ask for more than that. This particular Amoco station is strategically located, and you can view the work being done from a nice quiet showroom. They welcome walk in business. Its a good suggestion to call to find out how busy they are and to explain the situation youre in. In many respects, this is the way good business is done. After 43 years, they have mastered the repairs of transmissions while helping the general public. There is good value here, excellent service, and quality technicians.

If you re having car troubles, there is no other shop that I trust more than AAMCO in white plains. I was having transmission issues and knew i had to take my car in. AAMCO of White Plains has been the best auto repair experience I have had in Westchester county. They solved a problem with my transmission that two other dealer service centers couldnt even diagnose. This will be the first place I go the next time my car needs anything repaired.

I have a 2004 WRX that had a seized transmission after sitting for more years than Id like to admit. I decided to give AAMCO a call and I was not disappointed. Jeff and his team went above and beyond. How are they above? Their ability to diagnose, communicate and rebuild even better than OEM is unlike anything Ive ever experienced at an automotive shop. Since that Subaru rolled off Jeffs lift, its been rolling through gears smoothly and effortlessly. And the beyond? Not only did they ensure that I had a rock solid transmission, but they also diagnosed and fixed an electrical problem Ive had for years, stemming from a bad alternator. The bar has been set.

Jeff was wonderful, walked me through the whole process. Excellent customer service. Worked with my warranty company through all the pit stops and finally got my AC approved. Will definitely use them again, and refer them to family and friends.

I took the car down to them with a leaking transmission issue . They went above and beyond on the diagnosis and the care to call the dealer and find out that the transmission is covered under my factory warranty. And they didn t charge me for the diagnosis!!!

AAMCO in White Plains was a Godsend. Five star rating is not even enough. We will be taking a 4 hour road trip that week when the engine light came off. The car doesnt have power and does not accelerate well. I went to my regular mechanic and the code showed something to do with the transmission. The mechanic advised me to take it to the dealer or transmission specialist. I went to the dealer and after their diagnosis, told me the car need a new transmission which will cost around $9,000. I thought of getting a second opinion and the first thing that pop up when I search for transmission specialist was AAMCO in White Plains. NY. Jeff answered my call. Jeff was very attentive and accommodating. Jeff then told me after listening attentively that base on his experience it sounded more on electrical than transmission. He then told me to come and arranged a date for the car to be thoroughly inspected and diagnosed. Sure indeed. it was electrical. The great thing is, instead of me paying $9,000, I paid only $1,235. Another great thing is, my family and I took our scheduled road trip using the car with full power and no issues whatsoever. I am very grateful of Jeff, Jared and their entire team. Highly, highly recommended.

Jeff and Jared expedited repairing a car repair that needed to be done on my car. Theyve been updating me on a daily basis along with providing amazing customer care. This Workshop is incredible. We came with a problem where two other Werkstatt´s did suspect a broken transmission, this team here found the problem and solved it, it was the board electronic, which had a bug. The best is still to mention: a couple of days later we needed to go to a Ford Dealership very nearby (recall action because of the deadly airbags needed to be replaced), when we picked up the car at that Ford dealer, the whole AC/ventilator etc. was not working. The Ford Dealer refused to look into that, wanted US $ 400 for a diagnosis (of their own fault, imagine!). We went back to AAMCO (Jeff) in White Plains. They immediately found the problem: the Ford Dealer had disconnected all cables behind the console and not plugged them in again, obviously forgotten. Jeff and his team found the mistake, repaired and put the car together - even without charging a Dollar for this (although not their fault). Therefore, Jeff and his team earn a 5-star appraisal here. I had a really great experience with the guys at the shop. 99% of my communication with them was via phone. I met them in person when picking up my car. They provided the utmost service ever. Going to a auto shop can be nerve-wracking for any woman but these guys were honest and were filled with integrity! I really appreciate the work they did on my car and their patience. The whole experience from start to finish was very easy.

They are so caring honest and trust worthy. Now where do you hear that about an auto mechanic? The minute my son and I walked into the office we felt calm. My son who works hard for his minimum wage is having issues with his mustang that he got with money his dad who pasted left. For him to have to junk this car would be so sad and devastating. So we brought it here. Being a single mom, I can t help him out. So hard. They are fair and work with you. No hesitation to return for any of our car needs. You won t be sorry and you ll leave happy.

Face it, nobody wants to visit a repair shop, especially when you think it s your transmission. If you need to get help though, there s no better team than Jeff and Jarrett. After a full day, Jeff called, Listen, I really want to take all our money . But I can t. There s nothing wrong with your car. We talked for a bit (Jeff is a heck of a conversationalist!) and he took another look. Did I say look? Let me clarify, he took the drive train apart, searching for the root cause. And when he reported again that there s nothing wrong, he refused to take money for the diagnosis work. I thanked him over and over again. And yeah, I still swear there s something wrong (yes, I m a bit pig headed, lol), and when it finally happens, you KNOW I ll be back. Thanks Jeff and Team!

Brought my SUV to AAMCO for a second opinion on a Dealers recommendation of a transmission replacement. I was looking for a estimate on a transmission rebuild. Jeff and team performed an a independent assessment of the issues I have been experiencing and it turn out the transmission was not the problem. The Dealer, intentionally or not, misdiagnosed the issue. Im very pleased to report such honesty and professionalism.

If you want your vehicle done right and with care, Jeff is your guy. He was so accommodating and was able to get my car in within a few days (the transmission was DONE and needed to be completely rebuilt... not a quick fix to say the least) and back out by the end of the week. Customer for life!

If you want old school service that prides itself on knowledge and quality of work, bring your car to Jeff and his team at Aamco White Plains. I brought my 2017 Traverse in to confirm what my own research indicated re. transmission issues on this model at a certain mileage; Jeff diagnosed and confirmed the issue and clearly laid out several possible options with associated cost. I opted to have my transmission rebuilt vs. buying one, which Jeffs team did well and completed days ahead of the estimated timeframe. A slight issue arose after getting the car back, which Jeff immediately addressed same day. Jeff cares about his customers, and I am so delighted with the service and professionalism that I experienced that I am bringing an additional car in to have a similar issue addressed.

The owner talks a good game but its all a smoke screen. I had my transmission replaced and when reinstalling the rebuild transmission the mechanic forgot to tighten the bolts for the strut to the knuckle on the front suspension driverside. So to my surprise at 70 mph on the highway my car began to shake violently on the highway and I almost lost control. When I call to ask why this happened the owner and his lead mechanic said it was someone elses fault for the bolt coming loose. They lied and lied. So if I get to play Monday Morning Quarterback dont go here unless you want problems after problems and have to hear its not them its you or other mechanics. All they had to do was pay $110 for the repair to my car but no that wont happen. SO STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION

I just wanted to take a minute, to thank Jeff and Jarrett at White Plains AAMCO. I was planning a trip to Texas and suddenly I started feeling a vibration, in my 2012 Jeep Cherokee? Every time I would go above 50 mph, the truck would vibrate? Thanks to the determination of Jeff and Jarrett they found a bad front drive shaft and replaced it! Jared and Jeff are absolutely AMAZING! I first took my fathers car to them when I was in college back in 2007. My dads Ford Explorer needed a new transmission. They built an indestructible transmission and provided Excellent service!! Fast Forward to spring of 2021, I purchased a used Chevy Traverse not knowing it needed a new transmission and I immediately thought of them! I brought them my Chevy SUV and they treated me like family again and really worked me! They did an amazing job on my car and now it drives like brand new. I also, brought my car back a couple of times afterwards because of other concerns I had and they took it with out any questions and addressed the issues immediately! Jeff and his crew are amazing! Had my vans transmission rebuilt here a few months ago and they did amazing work. Just picked up my 2012 Camaro from here a few hours ago after having a full brake job done and I have never been more satisfied with work that was done here today. Awesome experience. I brought my car in based on the reviews here, and Jeff and team surpassed expectations. After multiple times of needing to jump start my Ford Escape and being told by roadside membership service that the battery was fine, I brought it into Jeffs AAMCO to diagnose and fix the issue. I was expecting a major repair bill - but they fully diagnosed the issue, and turned out the issue was simply that the battery needed to be replaced after all. This place fully lived up to the reviews - great integrity and customer service.

Jeff and his team rebuilt the transmission in my wifes Cadillac SRX. Honestly, the car drove better than when we bought it used over 7 years ago. Im extremely happy. The service from the initial phone call, to being handed my keys at the end of it all was top notch. Jeff always made sure to call and give me updates along the way, which means a lot when youre spending your hard earned money. Great guy, great staff, and great experience. This is my second time using them as I had an Escalade transmission rebuilt over 10 years ago and the service was great back then. Glad to see that they keep the same level of service after all this time. They also do other car repairs/maintenance which I did not know about. Unlike the first aamco I went too ( the no longer open pearl river aamco ) these guys are quick, efficient, straight forward, pleasant to deal with, constantly update you on the progress of your vehicles repairs. UPDATE - After a recent phone conversation. I will not be working with this shop again. My car went in for what I thought was going to be a catalytic converter replacement. However Jeff/Jerry and their team realized the cat did not need to be replaced only the flang and flex pipe.

My truck would not go into park properly all the time, I know enough about cars to know it was the linkage. I brought my truck to local mechanic thinking I would get a honest diagnosis. I had explained to the mechanic I took care of the vehicle and was planning to sell the truck over the weekend. I received a call from mechanic saying I must replace transmission, when I explained I knew it was just a linkage issue he charged $146.00 for looking at it and when I said it was not the transmission I was told to pick it up and pay then he hung up on me. A friend told me about Tarrytown Armco, I had never used them but was told they were very honest and would give me an honest diagnosis. The gentleman I spoke with gave me an honest diagnosis and was disgusted with the previous mechanic who lied and tried to scam me. There are still honest people in the world of mechanics. It has been such a long time since I have worked with a truthful, old-school, reputable and professional mechanic. If you want good, honest work done, hands down these are the guys you are looking for. They saved me $3500.00. Thanks Again. Duncan MacRae

I cant say enough good about these guys. We had an issue with our car while we were driving through the area, 125 miles from home, on the Friday before Labor Day weekend. They were able to see us and got us in and out quickly so we didnt have to spend the holiday weekend in a hotel. A top notch rarity is when you find the combination of skilled expertise married with honest integrity. All the positive recommendations, no doubt are truthful. The father son team were extremely professional and meticulous in taking care of my car, as if it were their own. They are sharp, attentive and talented. I trust the safety of my family to no other. The last time I saw them, there was an unusual sound coming from my vehicle. These are often very difficult to diagnose since there are a plethora of areas it could be from but my cars doctor was en pointe and immediately figured it out and fixed it on the spot. Our first trip to White Plains Aamco was accidental: our truck broke down in the area, and it was the closest place we could get to- we are so glad for that initial trip six years ago. Aamco of White Plains was the most accommodating service center I have ever encountered. My daughter goes to Pace University in Pleasantville and Jeff and his team went out of their way to contact the Bronx Aamco center to repair my daughters car which was under warrantee in Staten Island. My Jeep Cherokee Transmission went out without warning. I initially had the vehicle assessed by the local Jeep dealership who quoted me $11,000 for a full transmission replacement. I got a second opinion from Jeff and his team and not only did they save my current transmission, they did it at a much better rate. As they were repairing my vehicle they ran into problem after problem but not once did Jeff increase the initial quote he gave me for the repair. Integrity in action! Money Saved: $4500 At 195,742 miles and my last tune-up having been about a year ago, I was almost certain that the original CVT Transmission of my 2014 Subaru Impreza was giving out. I came in with the clear and stated intention to dish out money for a new or rebuilt transmission and even took some time off from work for the potential repair/replacement. Jeff asked when the last time I did a full tune-up was and I told him that it was about a year ago. He then mentioned that he had worked on a few vehicles with a similar problem to mine and didn t want to jump the gun and change/repair the transmission, even after I mentioned that it couldn t be spark plugs because they were relatively new. This wouldve been an easy steal or misdiagnosis to any other unethical or inexperienced mechanic and I couldve been taken for the proverbial ride or have paid top dollar to fix that wasnt broken. However, these men are far from unethical or inexperienced and not only did they not assume it was my transmission and rip me off, but they actually diagnosed it correctly; which to my surprise were bad spark plugs. They fixed the issue and Jarrett (Jeff s son) went so far as to take the car for a very long ride to ensure that they werent giving it back to me with the same problem that I came in with. I think I can speak on behalf of most consumers when I say, that I would rather pay a fair or full price for an honest and efficient mechanic than to pay half or fall into the hands of a scammer and get severely overcharged due to a misdiagnosis. These guys are the needle in the haystack. Jeff mentioned that he s been in the business for 40 years and has technicians with over 27 years of experience and it shows (and saves)! Integrity and experience made all the difference in this transaction I live in Rockland county and I highly recommend THIS AAMCO at white plains NY.

Jeff at AAMCO saved me over $8,000.00! One of our work vans would not go into gear and it was towed to a Ram dealership. According to their diagnostics I needed a new battery and a new transmission. They claimed the repair on this 2016 van with 80,000 miles would cost me just over $8,000.00. I called AAMCO and they told me they would arrange a tow and check out the van. Jeff had my van for over a week, drove it daily, ran diagnostics and the it ran fine aside needed a new battery. It seems as though the old battery was not giving off enough voltage to power the PCM to engage the transmission. Jeff called me daily with updates and he has a personality that makes you feel like you have known him for decades. We are now bringing all of our vans to AAMCO for all service or repairs. I highly recommend this center for their honesty and integrity.

I brought the car to the shop because I thought there was a transmission fluid leak. Theyre inspection revealed the problem wasnt the transmission. It was a bad oil seal. They explained the problem, told me when the job would be completed, and the cost of the repair. They delivered the car on time for the price they quoted. I am very satisfied with there service.

Recently I had issues with my 2017 Dodge Durango citadel where as my radiator was giving me issues amongst other things. Fearing the worst with my recent car issue (strange humming noise from underneath) I found AAMCO through a google search of nearby transmission care. I normally drive my 2007 Saab 9-3 1 hour to have it properly taken care of a Saab master mechanic. Prior to taking my car for a new clutch I called my Saab guy and he told me it could cost as much as $2500 to fix my clutch. Jeff fixed my clutch for $500 less and my car has never been faster. We called AAMCO after our car failed inspection and they guaranteed that they would be a more affordable option than the $3,100 quoted by the inspection place. We brought the car over after that promise. A day and a half later we were told that they still didn t know what was wrong with our car and wanted $850 to diagnose it. Two days later we were told that the whole transmission needed to be rebuilt and it would cost a $400 more than our inspection place. We reluctantly agreed. We got the car back and to add insult to injury, our car key and all of the interior, including the door, visor and all around the the door and handle are soiled with smears of engine grease. In all my life I have never received my car back in such a dirty condition. I contacted the AAMCO corporate offices and spoke to a woman named Charlene three times who was horrified that they would not fix the mess they made to my car despite her calling them three times on my behalf. She said that they indicated to her that they would not clean the motor grease from my car because I shared this honest review. Don t trust them to do the right thing and don t trust them to treat your car with respect.

My 2009 Jeep Wrangler just started having transmission issues and being unfamiliar with it.. was hoping it wouldn t be anything too bad.. especially since I just had the car repaired for something else unrelated that had cost me a lot. Of course any type of transmission repair is expensive and I was ready to just junk the car but Jeff got me on a payment plan that made it possible for me get my transmission repaired. The entire process went much smoother than I thought and I had my vehicle back within a week.

After experiencing transmission problems I brought my car to the dealer. They were unable to specifically locate the problem and recommended a new transmission among other things. I was not confident with their assesment and decided to bring my car to Aamco in White Plains. Jeff and his staff were able to isolate the problem to the transmission, and although I was not happy about replacement, he was able to give me a fair price for a factory rebuilt. Since my car was 11 years old I was not convinced at first that a new transmission was worth the investment, but Jeff did a full inspection of the car and made me feel comfortable with the decision. When I picked up my car after the repairs I noticed a exhaust noise as I left the shop. I brought the car right back and Jeff found where one of the pipes had corroded exposing holes after being taken apart and reconnected during the transmission replacement. He didnt hesitate offering to make repairs as well as realigning the steering wheel. It is hard to find a repair shop that provides excellent customer service and quality work but this is one of them.

Jeff is very friendly, honest, and knowledgeable about cars. Had loads of issues with my 2001 Lexus es 300. Check engine light would turn on every single month and had to brought it to car shop until i brought it to AAMCO in White Plains. 5 months since and no check engine light. Definitely recommend this AAMCO location!

Omg, could not have asked for a better experience. I was told by the dealer that I bought my truck from, that I needed a new transmission. This was going to cost me $6500 . My friend told me about Jeff and his son Jared. I quickly pulled my truck from the dealer and ended up in Jeff s garage. After 2 days , I was told that my truck is running fine, and there was no evidence of transmission trouble. And, if I start to have issues, to let him know, and they will re check it. And all he charged me was $20, lol and that s because he needed to put gas in it. Jeff and Jared could ve banged me over the head with a huge bill, and yet they didn t, their honesty speaks volumes. Rare to find an honest person in this industry, but Jeff the owner is exactly that. Just bought a year old A6 from an out of state dealer. After I took delivery of it, I realized the brakes started to scream. Brought it to Jeff who spent two days diagnosing, the dealer refused to pay for the repair, so fortunately I was able to return it to them. Meanwhile, Jeff who spent quite of bit of time on the vehicle never asked me for a penny. He earned my lifelong business with his honestly and Id definitely recommend.

So two weeks ago my Transmission gave up on me and i was in a panic. I called a few places and were told a bunch of gibberish. Finally my son told me to check out these guys. A little over a week My van was up and running again like new after the transmission was repaired here. The car is in immaculate condition now and I couldnt be happier. I recommend anyone out there that has transmission issues to come hhere, talk to Steve and his crew. These guys know their job. Its good to know that there are still honest people out there. Thanks Guys.

I am sooo grateful to the boys at Aamco! After going to a competitor for a new exhaust pipe and tires, my jeep was making a terrible rattling noise. After 9 months of trying to get it fixed, and stories of non fixable issues with the car from wear and tear, the mechanic recommended that I buy a new jeep. I came to Aamco for a second opinion. I could immediately tell a difference with Jeffrey Zade. He explained a number of reasons it could be making the noise and assured me my jeep would be fine. He fixed the Jeep and it sounds and runs like new. It turns out the previous mechanic installed the pipe poorly and it was rattling against the car on every bump on the road. Zade took care of the issue and settled up with me with a firm handshake! I wasted my time and money with a competitor when the boys at Aamco were here all along. I now have a trusty mechanic at Aamco!!!

This is the worst experience I have ever had getting my car repaired. I took my car in to diagnose why the check engine light was on and to see why I had two leaks coming from my car. jeff the owner had the mechanics check my car and told me that a slew of things were wrong with my car. I indicated to him that I would be taking a long distance road trip with my young child and that I needed my car to be safe to travel. He assured me he would fix whatever needed to be fixed on the car to insure my familys safety. He told me that he would do the repairs in 2 days, 2 days turned into 4 and I had to rent a vehicle to use while he had my car. He initially quoted me $1899 for various repairs. When it was all said and done the repairs totalled $2889. My car is still leaking and the check engine light is still on. I went back to him and he told me that I needed further repairs. I am so disappointed. I feel lied to, cheated and ripped off. I dont trust him to do the repairs he claims to do. I will never go back there again!

On a snowy and cold evening, my Land Cruiser engine literally stopped running while I was driving on Main Street, in White Plains. I was traveling for business and in NY to see my daughter. We found this particular AAMCO (via their Google 5-star rating) and I told my insurance company I wanted my car towed to them...best decision I made. The next morning, I called and spoke to the owner, Jeff, who was very professional. He did inform me of how backed up they were and said he would do his best to look at my vehicle since I was traveling from out-of-state (they were backed up with work for about 4-5 days). Once he had a chance to look at my car, he called to informed my of ALL he anticipated needing to do...there were a LOT of problems and they took care of them quickly in order to get me back on the road. I know that I paid a very FAIR price for all they did. I wish they were closer to me so they were my mechanics, as I trusted them implicitly with my car. Once my car was done, they even called a local cab company to pick me up. I met his son and one other mechanic who worked on my car, as they were VERY PROUD of being able to get the repairs done so quickly, when they literally squeezed me in their very busy schedule! I am very appreciative for their efforts and professionalism.
