I moved here two years ago and was fortunate enough to find a great mechanic on the first try. Fred is a skilled mechanic, always helpful, explains everything, and always finds time to fit you in if you have immediate needs. It is a really comfortable atmosphere with great customer service and I would recommend Winter Auto to anyone looking for a great and trustworthy mechanic.

I'll start this post by saying that I have known Fred, the owner, for years. I knew him through the best times and the worst times. He has always been one of the most dedicated, determined and straight forward people I've ever encountered. We had fallen out of touch for a while and when we reconnected, he told me he was a mechanic and he owned his own shop. I brought my wife's vehicle to Winter Automotive and reconnected with Fred after about 12 years. I was absolutely blown away with his level of expertise and his extensive knowledge. He's was still the same straight forward, cut through the b.s. and fluff Fred that I knew years ago. He has now been servicing my vehicles, my family's vehicles and my friends vehicles for close to a year and he has exceeded all expectations! He has been nothing short of a Godsend and I could not recommend his services enough! With Winter Automotive, you are in the best hands and won't get sold on garbage that you don't need!
After some bad experiences in the area with other mechanics, I came across winter auto when trying to get the crankshaft sensor replaced on my wife’s car. They had great reviews online and were the only shop I called that could fit us in within 2 days so we took the car there. The whole team was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and easy to work with. Their prices were very fair, and the experience overall was as good as we could have hoped for. Highly recommend!
Fred is fantastic! Communicated well and reassessed my vehicle after I had left a dealership. Price point was spot on and he was able to get me in the very next day! I know it was a lightning strike, but it happened exactly when I needed it, and Friend was so friendly, I felt very good about having him as my new mechanic! We will be back!

I ve taken my vehicle to Frederick at Winter Auto a few times and have been very happy with the service. Prices are fair and workmanship has been great.
They know their stuff. I pulled in and described my issue and the owner immediately identified its a common failure on my engine model and theres a replacement part that doesnt fail. Ordered it that day and installed it the next, since I was on travel and it was an emergency. Great people and great work done.
I called Winter Automotive stating a problem with my vehicle, loosing power at times vehicle still driving the same but vehicle continued to drive as normal. oh yes I ll look at it left the vehicle there it remained at Winter s for approximately 3 weeks. I continued to get phone calls oh no worries it s carbon billed up make sure you drive with the eco system turned off oh wow, no problem. Then another few days later I would receive another call was there shaking in the vehicle while driving? I replied no I pampered that vehicle since it returned from another mechanic who had changed the timing chain. The vehicle was running great for 6 months with a recent of losing power as stated above. Met with Fred a few times to discuss in person, Fred stated oh you have compression engine and it s good just can t seem to solve the issue. We know, now that it has a misfire ! That s the new diagnosis from Fred. After several weeks of working on my vehicle it was never repaired and in worst shape when it was dropped off. Fred s diagnosis which is pretty much unknown ! Still don t have answers as times goes on, besides from having compression to limited compression! As a consumer I asked Fred lots of questions regarding about the vehicle and his diagnosis as a mechanic. As a consumer I indicated that my vehicle is in worst shape and I believe you had something to with how the vehicle is running at this time. He was very offended and became very sensitive To my constructive criticism which is well deserved. But continued to sate that he did anything to my vehicle to make it worst and stated untrue calling me a liar but it was appropriate for me to give him criticism how he diagnosed my vehicle, he was the last person driving my vehicle and it s worst off then when the work Fred completed. Parts changed that never needed to be changed ! The vehicle will be going to get diagnosed and repaired with another mechanic. This is not done and will continue to be in litigation regarding my vehicle. It s all about the principle ! Other consumers be aware of why you are bringing your vehicle there. Do your homework on the mechanic no matter if you get a referral. Be smart and take notes, not saying that all mechanics are bad people but it s like good cop bad cop. If u r bringing it there for a tire change or brakes yes that would be fine any thing more in-depth go and do your homework and get the best mechanic. Mechanics are not engineers they are just mechanics. Do Not Take your vehicle there!

The best place to get your vehicle fixed, honest people that aim to do do their jobs right. All around good people. On top of all of this they have competitive pricing and wont be ripping anyone off. Great experience! Took both my cars there for oil change and tire repairs. Fred has a great deal of knowledge across many areas of auto repair and diagnostic testing. Pricing is fair and he is quite responsive. As I am responsible for fleet maintenance where I work, I have started taking shop vehicles there for repair. He is very good at keeping me in the loop as to what is going on with the vehicles. I would highly recommend him for all your automotive needs.

I have taken two vehicles to this shop. My Ford Raptor was in for suspension upgrades and our Audi Q7 was in for a maintenance issue. Jim was very helpful in the maintenance and the upgrades were completed professionally and quickly. All pricing is fair and they only charge for the what they do. This small business is TOP NOTCH and I highly recommend anyone bring there vehicles to them. I will definitely be continuing business with Modern Auto Repair and Off-Road in the future.
